Hello. I am using FileMaker Pro 7.03 on OS X 10.4.1 running on a G3 iBook. For some reason the ordinary keyboard shortcut for next/previous record, i.e. Control Up/Down, does not seem to work. I have been upgrading an application from FM6 to FM7 on my Mac (Tiger). However, the user is testing the application on Windows XP and there appear to be some rather bizarre differences. One is that when he user clicks on a tab that goes to a layout (in a different UI file), that layout is initially in Find mode. However, when the user enters data into a field on the layout and hits enter to invoke the Find, the layout switches immediately to another layout (in a different UI). I have a database that is being shared by 3 computers over Airport Extreme. File sharing and network printing work fine. The 3 computers are: 01) 20 inch iMac running OS 10.3.9 Panther and Filemaker Pro 7 (FMP7) 02) 17 inch Powerbook running OS 10.4 Tiger and FMP7 (Powerbook 1) 03) New 17 inch Powerbook running OS 10.4 Tiger and FMP7 (Powerbook 2) The iMac is hosting the database. I just patched my Macintosh to OS X 10.3.9 this morning, and now FM 7 Developer refuses to run. Every time I try and launch it, it 'exits unexpectedly'. Anyone else seeing this behavior?

I've got an OSX 10.3.8 machine set to share 3 Filemaker 5.5 files. I'm trying to connect to it using "Open Remote" from a powerbook with OS9.2.2 and it just isn't working. I've confirmed that the files are "shared" and that the network has integrity. I'm able to mount the OSX machine and view the shared files from "local Network" in the Network Browser. Also... on the OS9 machine... I'm able to "Open Remote" to a separate OS9 machine acting as the server for the same files. Of course, I'm not trying to do this all at once. Hi, After moving to Tiger, I'm noticing 2 curious behavior I'd like someone to confirm. 1) The Get(WindowWidth) and Get(WindowHeight) is not working any longer, returning 0 for both every time. 2)The language is locked to what it was first and I cannot switch any more to another language Edited : All Get( ) related to windows aren't working except those capturing the size by content... I have multiple photo images that I use as icons and artwork that no longer have a transparent background after switching to Tiger. For example a small photo image of a printer (jpg) was previously displayed without a matte. Showing only the printer and the background was that of the layout being displayed. Now a white background matte is displayed filling in the entire field of the photo image. I'm using FM 7.0 v3. I've turned on and off the transparency selector in the fill panel. If I select a solid color other than white the photo field remain white as it should since it was imported with out a background. Is there a preference setting I'm missing? Is…

Does FileMaker Server expose any shell commands for starting and quitting the *server (not just the config utility)? Can I start the server on system startup? If all else fails, what pid (or name) do I look for if I need to kill it? Thanks much, JR Bernal

I am running Mac OS X Server with FM Server 7 advanced. I am running FM pro on my client machines, which are Win XP. i have done everything by the book and I can connect from my Dell COmputer to the server and open the Database. BUt when I try to make any modications (layouts,screens, etc...) it says "THIS DATABASE IS NOT MODIFIABLE". On my computer I can modify everything with the same database. When I open if on the server it says I can't modify this database. I can even type in fields it is so bad. Please help - thanks!

I'm running fm5 server on MacosX.3.8 Server and am wondering how fmpro clients handle filesystem permissions. For example, when a fm script runs an import from a file on the server, what username is asking for that file? I've looked in netinfo and can't seem to find a user called "fmpro" (the way I would "mysql" or "www"). So how is the os determining access? Also, any tips for sure-fire imports/export from/to any location on the network using filemaker, I'm running into trouble with fmpro's ability to remember where it is importing from! I have a small Mac LAN that all use OS 9.2 The server was using FM Server5.0 and to make an OSX machine work, I upgraded to FM Server 5.5 I upgraded the OS to 10.3.8 and am now not able to open the file. I get a message that says "" Open_orders_showtime" is currently in use and could not be opened. The file is single user or the host could not be found on the network. " Does anyone have any ideas? I'm kinda at a loss as to why this message is coming up.

Hi All: I've got a client who has asked that I look into setting up a FileMaker Point of Sale system, with cash register(s) and perhaps even touch-screen (along the lines of a restaurant system.) While I'm out there searching for clues on the net, I wondered if anyone here has done such a system, or had any hints for me. I imagine the client will want to stick entirely within OSX. To my horror I realized that, on the Mac, the mouse scroll wheel is useless within FMP. On Windows it proved invaluable in quickly allowing to scroll between hundreds of records/fields/scripts etc. Any solution or hope in the horizon?

I use FMP6v4 on MacOS10.3.4 I imported xml from http request but FMP has surely crashed and quit by the second import. The 1st import is successful after starting FMP,But if it becomes the 2nd time, FMP will crash. The same thing occurs also in FMP7 trial version. But this problem was not generated in OS9. I have created a dbase on macintosh (X). One layout (amongst others) displays imported text from EXCeL/word. If this layout is switched (no problem at all on MAC) and the dbase is opend in windows (XP) the programme bombs out. Hence from this layout (quite important to me) no use can be made in windows at all. Any solution???

This is a post related to: thread I am hosting with Filemaker Pro 6 (not server) to 3 clients all using 10.3.3 and have been getting the 3259 disconnection from host error on all the clients. We recently upgraded to a dual g5 1.8ghz machine as our server and that's when the problems began, at first on 1 client, now on all three. Does anybody know about issues hosting on G5 machines? Could this be a problem with the G5's network card?

Problem: One layout on a FM6 system served by FM server on Win2000 to Win and Mac clients is misbehaving on OSX (latest Panther). Everything in the header and random bits of the body (text and fields) are invisible in browse mode (yet they ARE visible in layout and preview modes!). The invisible fields will appear (along with their data) if you click into them, and remain visible. This problem is not present on OS9 or win clients. I am having some problems with the performance and stabilty of Filemaker server 7. It is in a medium sized buisness network enviornment and there are multiple users across a local network and vpn. I use remote desktop to manage and monitor the server. In the past few days I have had a high number of crashes (4 in 1 day) and numerous corrupted files. I have installed the upgrades, tried to optimize larger files, and saved compressed copies but the stability dosen't seem to have improved. I cant seem to pinpoint any circumstances that would cause the server to be so unstable. I was hoping to get some helpful hints or user experiences...

Hi, I am using FMP Pro 5.5 Unlimited on a Mac running OS 9.2. We are trying to send e-mail via FileMaker, using Eudora 5.1. The problem is that the mail we are creating with the "sendMail" command, stay in the outbox and are not sent automaticaly. Symbol font worked fine in earlier FM versions but it will not work with 7. Old records with it seem intact as well. And it does work in other programs--Quark, Word. Any fixes? I'm on Mac 10.3

I am running a FileMaker 4.1 database on a Mac G3 with OS 9. I need to have someone in my office access the database from her Windows XP computer. Several years ago, I had purchased some software called PC/MacLAN that would allow a Win98 PC user to read a file on a Mac running OS 9. It worked beautifully, but I haven't tried to see whether it's still available (or if it will work on XP). Do I still need to purchase that software, or some other program like Dave? I have a customer running FM 6 internally. The application is FM v6 and the FM server is v5.5. I have setup a sample database using the FM 6 application as a proof of concept trial. I think I have correctly turned on sharing and even IWP - but of course I could be wrong. They are a construction company and have users in the field in trailers connecting via DSL or cable modems. They need to connect to the internal FM database remotely. I have looked at the "via browser" solution, which works in a fashion, but it will need a major rewrite to establish complete functionality. I recently relocated my guitar shop, run exclusively on the FM db I built about 4 years ago. When we went to 2 Macs about a year ago, we hosted on one, and logged in wirelessly with the laptop using "Open Remote". I've also logged into a static IP computer using the same function. But my shop is now 10 miles from my house, and I'd like to log into the shop network from home using Open Remote, but that network is behind an Airport, and I just can't see any of the computers there, even knowing the IP. Hi, I'm using Filemaker Pro 6 on Mac OSX (my iMac has OS10.3 and other iMac has OS10.2) - the FM db is viewed in Table format. I have a simple, flat database of a lab's orders that I update and copy (across the network) to the lab computer. Twice the lab's version has a problem with the date not changing as they scroll down through the records - stays at 8/26/04 instead of changing to 11/24/04, if they started scrolling at 8/26/04. The data is fine underneath and my copy of the database is fine. Last time I fixed it by re-creating a new database and imported the data from my excel spreadsheet. I am using a USB flash drive (Kingston DataTraveler 516kb) to transfer files between an OSX 10.2 (Panther) computer and one running OS9.2. I have two intermittant problems. 1) sometimes a file becomes corrupted (whether read directly off the flash drive or transferred to harddrive) and must be restored, and 2) sometimes when I try to open a file, I get "Filemaker cannot read this drive" - no matter what drive it's reading from. (and it will have no problem reading other files on the same drive) Sometimes recovering those files restores access, but usually not. Each time I launch FileMaker, my Mac starts to dial out via modem to my internet service provider. Each time, I click "CANCEL" and FileMaker continues to run just fine. I'm using FM Pro 6 stand-alone (no other users, no server) on a Mac G3 under OS 9.2. (OS 9 only because of other legacy apps that lack OS X drivers.) Question: What's making FileMaker keep trying to connect to the internet? Is this something in each file, or something in general preferences for FileMaker, or what? Hi There I have 7 macs (3 x G4 and 4 x first blueberry iMacs) accessing a database (currently not using FM Server) and would like to consider using a wireless network (Airport?). The speeds I understand are 54mbs as opposed to 100mbs. As I have a tendency to design calculation-heavy databases I am concerned about slowness on the network. I would like to know if the database would run slower - and if there are methods (new hardware, software, etc) that would provide the same speed as a cable network. (on a side issue, anyone have any comment re the new Apple iMacs - the computer in the monitor ones?) Thanks!

Migrated several files from v6 to v7 on OS X and the buttons are all acting screwy. Most just turn solid black. Ran the v2 updater and no improvement. I've even tried creating new buttons and get the same thing. This is just unusable. I did open the downloaded Business Tracker and the buttons there work fine and new buttons I create in that file work fine. This must have something to do with conversion but I cannot figure it out. Has anyone else experienced this?

On transferring my Windows-built solution to client's OSX G4, several layout problems occur: 1) Cursor is impossible to place precisely; eg if I try to correct the word "contaact" by placing the cursor after the second "a" and deleting it, I may well delete the letter "c" or some other letter. 2) Aligned text in fields looks terrible in layout mode (ie not aligned as formatted), not much better in print preview mode, but OK on paper. So I have to print everything to test alignment! Steve

I have a database running in FM6 on a windows XP machine. Other windows machines open this app well. When I try to open it on a Mac (Jaquar w/FM6)the mac says it's about to host the file, then that the file was not closed properly, then that the file is read only, then things really get unproductive. I thought this was supposed to be a cross platform deal, so any idea's what I'm doing wrong?

I am running FM7 over a network in the office on OS 10.3.4. What do I need in order to access the host file from home? I need to be able to edit records as well as design layouts. When I go to use the print command again after sending a fax using Panther's fax function it says there is no printer selected, and I must again select my printer. What is really weird is if I Cancel out of the print dialog box and go to print again, my printer selection is back! What's up with that?? Peleka

I am in desparate trouble. I have a nine file data base that tracks donations and participant activities for a non-prof that helps cancer patients. It has been running on FMP 5.5. This data base runs on their Windows machines, while I have been updating it at home on my Mac (OS 10.3.3, G4 Dual, 1.5GB RAM). This has has worked fine until today. One file generates donation acknowledgement letters. FM 6.0v4, 10.3.3. On occasion I'll see glitches in the UI in FileMaker. The rest of my apps run normally. In Define Fields, when I duplicate a field, modify the name, and click Save, the Options button will sometimes remain inactive (dim). Double-clicking the field opens it. Today I was doing script copying & modifying, with a lot of changing the field in Set Fields. One time after I clicked OK in the fields list dialog, it redrew with content from the layout before it closed... I immediately quit FM, backed up, recovered the data to be sure, all was OK. I've deleted all my FileMaker prefs just to make sure, but the glitches still appear. …

Two machines running os9. One is hosting 3 databases, the other is accessing these dbs. They were created on the second machine. In the creation process this never happened, but now when I open the dbs remotely one will open ("viewing as guest"), the relationships in it cause another to open (still fine), it happens again (still fine), and then when you click on either of the first two they open dbs 2 and 3 again. So what I have is multiple copies (usually it stops at two), of the same db open. Problematic. Any ideas on why this is? Also on the same topic, why do they stop at two?

Hello everyone. This is my first post/thread. I actually signed up at FileMaker Dev Con last year. I'm beginning to get into FileMaker a little more, and hope to do more development work. I've reached a few conclusions: 1) I am beginning to need a laptop 2) I could do with a Mac as I want to develop more FM solutions for clients. I work on a website that links to a Mac at my office for 2 FM databases. Yesterday that Mac broke down. We removed the hard drive and made it an external drive on a new Mac. We attempted to re-establish the connection between the website and the FM files by renaming the new Mac's IP address with the one from the old Mac--so that the link from the website: http://206.20...etc, theoretically would still work. All our TCP/IP settings, and preferences in Filemaker appear to be correct, yet we cannot fix this thing. Hi! I have FMP Unlimited 6.0v4 running Web Companion 6.0v3 on a Mac XServe 2x1.33 with 2GB RAM/4x180GB drives (with OSX Server 10.3.3). There are eight databases running off an iMac (512MB/20GB) with FMP Server 5.5v4. The two major databases have 400,000 and 135,000 records each and have three related fields. I'm running FMP Connector with Apache on the XServe so most of the web load has been taken off of the Web Companion. Hello all, I wasn't very skillful in doing my search to see if this has already been addressed, so my apologies if I'm repeating old information. I'm currently running FM 5.5v2 on OS9 and I'm looking at upgrading to Panther pretty soon. I've been told that my current version of FM won't function on the new OS, but I haven't been able to find any independent confirmation of that. I run FMP 5.5 on a TiBook with Panther 10.3.3 and I use a Microsoft optical two-button mouse with wheel. Unfortunately, all the usability of the wheel is thrown to the winds in my case: it just doesn't do anything. In XP I can scroll through records, in card or list view, scroll to the bottom or top of very long scripts, or the Define Fields table. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I am currently hosting a FMP 6.04 database system on a G4 933Mhz in OS 9.2.2 (Hardware RAID), which serves a maximum of 3 mac clients. I am also hosting the image server on this machine so file sharing is on and performance is slow. I have read the FMP Server Best Practices pdf and understand that image serving and database serving are best done on separate machines. Now I have the opportunity to upgrade the hardware and I am thinking about migrating to a G5 machine running panther with a firewire 800 RAID storing the databases (and/or images). I cannot see most of the data in any of my files. I am suspecting a fonts issue. (I recently have been cleaning out fonts from my System folder). When I create a new file, the data does not show up in the fields unless I format the data in a field with a different font. Not all fonts cause the data to appear. I created a file at home over the weekend on my new Windows XP machine. I emailed it to work and now at work my Mac OS 9.1 machine won't recognize or open the file. Both are using FM 6.0 Client. I am faced with recreating about 5 hours worth of work. Anybody have any ideas why this is happening and if I can solve the glitch?

Our server is a G5 with OSX and FM6. We have recently been experiencing issues with FM files sporadically not being accessible or viewable from the client workstations. The files are intact on the server. After recovering the files, they begin to act normally again from the client workstations. Any idea what is causing this problem? I am on a Powerbook with OSX and FM6. We recently upgraded all computers in our office to OSX and FM6. I am remotely connected to our files on our Xserver at our office. I have been able to work on all aspects of the files remotely with no problem. I attempted to create a script by performing all the functions and creating the intended report. When I go to Scriptmaker to name and save the script, the function window is blank and there are no steps listed to be saved. What am I doing wrong? All scripts created before we upgraded are working properly. It's just any new script that I've attempted to save is coming up blank, Thanks for any help you can offer.

Why, when I open from the guest computer, do I get open windows from both guest and host? Here is the setup: The host machine has an "open all" script attatched to the first file, so the rest open automatically. This was created in single user mode on the host machine, host file. All the files were then set to multi -user mode. On the guest machine I navigate to the host and open the first file. In my open windows list on the guest machine I then get some duplicates, like (lineitems.FP5) and (lineitems.fp5) - the same with a couple of other files. I think the capitalized .FP5 comes from the guest machine's hard drive, although I have only opened files from the host. There…

I'm running FileMaker Developer 6.0v4 on Mac OS X (10.3.2). I usually run the same version of FM in Mac OS 9.2.2. The most glaring problem in the OS X version is the absence of the toolbars. Personally, I dislike MS-style toolbars (just give me a hotkey or some Adobe style palettes). But, FileMaker appears to have relied on them, and then pulled their support in Mac OS X. It makes database design pretty difficult sometimes. The other annoying issue is that sometimes when I click on a button (actually a field assigned a script), the cursor "sticks" to the field, as if I simply held the button down. can you lock or restrict access to any of the pull down menus? for instance I want users to create a new file by running a script and not use the main filemaker menu

I am new to Networking and to Macs. I have FM5 on a win XP machine, and a brand new Mac OS X with FM6 on that one. I have networked them together successfully, but can't figure out from the book if you can switch which computer is the host and which is the guest, depending on which setup is more convenient on any given day. The help says the one you open first is the host. So do the files automatically get stored on that machine that opened FM first? Is the only problem with this remembering which computer is holding the changed files?

I am having a serious problem with FMP on my Mac computers. We are set up with one computer as a host, and the other two computers access the program as guest through the host's desktop. When we had 5.5, it worked fine, but now that we have 6, we are having problems. I keep getting the error message "Communication with the host was interrupted and could not be re-established (-3259)" whenever I try to either create a new shipping document or I do a search, but sometimes I cannot even open these files. Does anybody have an idea what's going on?

Does anyone have any experience/comments on storing FM files in hidden folders (using Norton Disk Doctor to change the attribute to invisible) on OSX. I have played with some test files and it seems easy enough to open these files by script. I thought it may be useful for some "low-sensitivity" files - more really to perhaps prevent files from being being shifted or deleted accidentally. I look forward to your comments. Cheers, Murray

I now have my application running on the MAC and created a runtime under OS-X. Just discovered that it will not run in OS-9. Although I was able to startup "Classic" on my eMAC, I still can't figure out how to create the runtime in OS-9?? Also, the runtime application on the PC is 9.4MB. The same application on the MAC is 21.5MB. The executable file alone is 9.6MB! Am I doing something wrong? I'm sure I'll have more questions as the MAC-saga continues! Thank you.

Has anyone used Filemaker Pro 6 on a XServe running OSX Server 10.2.8 or later to host an internal database? I know Filemaker Server has problems on OS X Server, so I reckon using Multiuser on FMP6 would offer me enough speed etc to cope as I only have 2 users. But before I move the database to the XServe I want to make sure there no known problems... Thanks Frank

We have several relational databases hosted on an OS 9.1 machine using FM Pro5. These databases are accessed over a network by five macs. The whole system worked great for about a month, then we started to experience frequent type1 and type2 crashes on the host machine. The crashes seem to occur most frequently, but not exclusively, when focussing a hidden related database as a new primary (interface). Fonts are a likely culprit, but the host machine has only OS fonts installed, and ATM found that two of these were damaged. After removing them, the crash problem persists. Brand new to Macs - I miss very basic knowledge. If I create a media field, then right-click (pardon, control-click) on that field, I can insert a sound. If I click that, a program opens. What program is that? Can I find it in the Applications somewhere? (This is Panther, by the way). Thanks

I have been hosting our FM solution on a iMac 700mhz G3 for about a year. This machine is dedicated to this sole purchase. It is running OSX 10.2.8. Originally it was running Unlimited with about 12 relational files. Served up to about 5 local users on our office network as well as serving pages via web companion to the internet. We have a small network with filemaker in our office. Many times the computer is left on a record that needs to be used by others. So their computer will say the record can not be modified because the same record is open on another computer. Can this safety feature be turned off or gotten around in some way?

I have a small office network - three G'4 and one IBM - everything works great together with filemaker as long as I am working on 'remote computer' If the connection sits idle for just a short time the connection is cut off and we need to reopen remote file. Is there an adjustment to lengthen out the time beore connection is closed?

Folks I was working on a late model G4 server last night. It was in a server room connected to one of those monitor/keyboard switch boxes, with a PC keyboard connected to it. The G4 has no CD tray open button, there is a eject disk key on the keyboard. But it was a PC keyboard plugged in... Does anybody know if there is a keyboard shortcut (or something) to open the drive tray? We ended up having to shut the server down and temporarily pluging in a mac keyboard. But there's gotta be a bterre way.

I have 2 G4s with OS9.2.2 running FM6.0v4. One operates normally. The other runs FM with 40mb RAM instead of about 12Mb. Mouse scrolling and keyboard typing is painfully slow in FM but not in other applications. This happens even when I open just one of the small sample databases provided with FM. Closing FM takes an age. I have tried switching everything else off including networking but with no effect. Any suggestions anyone ?

Has anyone been using 10.3/Panther with FileMaker 5.5 Pro? I am interested in switching our office over from 10.2.6/Jaguar, but am hesitant because FileMaker doesn't seem to list version 5.5 as compatible at their website. Of course, they only mention their latest release - 6.0. Thanks Rome Hanks

I am running FileMaker Unlimited on OS X and serving web pages through it. Occasionaly it crashes and my clients can not access it. Is there some app out there in Mac Land that will give an audio alert when an application crashes.

I have a whole set of FMP files that I manage on a G4. From time to time I copy all these files onto my Powerbook in order to access them on the road. I can't figure out why but on the Powerbook FMP takes an inordinate amount of time to find the related files even though they are all classified in the same folder with the same name as on the G4. I get the impression that FMP looks everywhere else instead of in the folder to find the right file. Does anyone have any idea why there is this delay so I can work a way around it?

Hello, and thanks for helping, I am new to networking Filemaker, and I have two MACS, that I want to Network using one SYSTEM that i have created. So far there will be two main sides of this database. Database/MAC TWO would access DATABase/MAC ONE only to bring up style numbers that the ONE database contains, and also for CONTACT info. So far, i think that if I make the system Multi-User it might work, but can the One computer be inputting contacts and also the two computer be bringing up these contacts. can anyone help please? we run a small office with a few macs all on OS 10.2.6 which are networked together and share an epson stylus colour 740 printer. each mac will happily print from any application other than filemaker pro 6.0.v4. when printing from FMP nothing happens and print centre shows no job. any ideas?

Hi, I have set up a db as a multi user and is working fine across a local network. now I've caught a plane and am trying to access the file via my broadband, but i dont cant see the file in the "open remote" menu. (tried the ip option). Also I'm using the standard filemaker- not the server version I can access the remote computer through normal afp. Since the update to OS 10.2.8 I am not able to open any FM file. I tried using FM6 and FM 5.5 on local and remote volumes. File is "opening" the FM Password box is showing up I can type the password... and then FM hangs up with a spinning beachball. Workaround so far disable TCP/IP networking in FM pref. and work only on local files. Anybody else with similar problems ??

Has anyone else had a problem with FM 5.5 and System 10.2.7? I have a networked solution that has been running fine and continues to run fine on 10.2.6. However I just got 3 new 17 inch 1.25GHz iMacs, that have 10.2.7 on them. When you launch FM 5.5 from the dock, select our "Opener" file, FM will quit when the opener opens other files. Happens EVER time when launched from the Dock. It will happen about 50% of the time if you launch the application from it's folder. This only happens on the 10.2.7 machines....

I went to the store today to buy the newest version of Filemaker because: a) I want to keep my new Mac running in native OS X applications instead of in Classic mode : because I can't print to PDF or my fax machine from Filemaker (as far as I can figure anyway) when in 'Classic' mode c) because all of a sudden I cannot open Filemaker files in v 5.0 even in Classic mode if I wanted to! I am working with 3 eMacs (OS 9) that are on a larger network. I want them to share a FM file. OS 9 file sharing is NOT turned on. All 3 eMacs are running FM Pro6 w/ TCP/IP under the same subnet mask. The database file is on eMac #1 set to multi-user. eMacs #2 & #3 do not see the file when I try to OPEN REMOTE. Hi, I have been having the same problems as what pkudrle posted, but when I open the file using open remote it works fine, but any linked files won't. How do I make all of my linked files work, or is the computer setup wrong.

I have a PowerBook G4 with OS X.2.6. I have FM5, and I'm sitting here with an FMPro6 Upgrade still in shrinkwrap, because I wanted to check out some things first. - The box says 10.1 is required in OS X. Does FM run in Classic mode, or is it for-real OS X? I figured they'd spell it out, but I find it safer to check first. - I am not thrilled about having to install FM5 just so FM6 can find the files it needs to verify the upgrade. Is there a way around that? For instance, does anyone know if the process might let me slip in my FM5 CD? Maybe just drag-copy something from FM5 CD? Thanks.

Does anybody have experience accessing files via VPN in 10.2.3? The files are served on a G4 running OS9.2 which is part of a network of computers connecting to the Internet via a router and ADSL, we have no problems getting to the files from a PC using ADSL and VPN. However, we are now adding G4s running 10.2.3 and while I can establish a connection via VPN, the files do not show up in the Host list of Filemaker. Any suggestions very much appreciated. Gabriela
