Hi All When I print my estimate on Starting point 603.aub I would like it to show the company name and estimate number as the file name to save PDF is this possible as it now only names it after the FM starting point file name would like to name it .....IE - GLOBALLINK EST... 001 from Filemaker Is this possible ??     Hi, I need to send html email from FMSP. There's the option in the FMSP for the 360Works email. As I am considering two options, being 360Works email and Dacon's Mailit 8, I wanted to know whether the 360Works email is already integrated with FMSP 2020, or whether I need to add it using scripting?     Is there a simple way to have a pricing point for a product based on number of products sold? Something like: 1-10 - $100 11-15 - $90 16-20 - $80 etc. I know I can set up different products and then use the correct version, but I'd like to automate it to avoid errors. Thanks!

  11. Tested the v7 calendar with FM 18 First successfully create a Task with date and start / end time. It displayed correctly on the calendar. When I performed a drag and drop, the task disappeared from the screen. Upon checking the TASK table, the record is there but all the Date and Time have become ? . If I edit this record and enter the proper date and time, then it appear again in the calendar.

When I Prepare an invoice in FM Starting point, and for different line items i use a different tax rate, the VAT amount in the sales tax field on the right disappears. But , magically spears again when i lower the amount of the lowest taxed item in the line item tab. Where is the sales tax calculated? The field "sales tax" in a number, not a calculation. I have FMSP connected to our companies Quickbooks Online sandbox account. When I do the PreFlight Check I get Success! in the Results / Info field. However when I click the circular arrows to run the "QB_UpdatePaymentAccounts" script I get "There was an error in trying to to use the CountEntities function for the Account entity type." error.   15. In the invoice module there is a "Deposit" entry field under the "Detailed Total" tab. The deposit field doesn't list in the "Invoice payments" line items. Where can the list of all deposit payment be found ? I also want to create a pre tax sub total in the invoice module . How do I do this ?   16. Hi When you go into the invoice tab and select print it generates a report for that invoice. I am trying to make it so that it displays then in date order. I can of course make it display in date order in the portal but that doesn't affect the report. which is a problem if I forget something on a certain date and want to add it in, it will display it at the end of the invoice lines. I tried adding in a sub summary part by Qdate worked but it will not display. I made it red to see if it displayed anything, but it will only display items in the body.   17. Hi, Whenever I start a new invoice and the customer is not in my "Contacts" I can create this contact from the "Invoice" module. The thing is that if I proceed with the invoice I don't see the contact's name and billing address on the invoice. Do I have to do a refresh and if so, how? Same with the "products" : how can I do a refresh. Help appreciated.

  34. My clients pay me into one of two PayPal accounts and I want to track where each invoice is paid. So I went to the "status" field in the invoice layout and changed the existing "Paid" entry to one with a descriptor of the account and then I created a second "Paid" entry for the other account. When I went to List view, the two paid fields went from bold dark blue to just black, same as the "Sent" entry (FMP 3 attached image). Active stayed red, though. I'm a rank amateur at this and normally enjoy solving the problems the customisation process throws up but there is one thing I can't figure out and would love a steer on... When making an estimate, I press the button "Add Line" and a popup appears with my products on it. However, the ones I inputted are connected with "Per Hour" rate but the default rccconsulting pre-inputted product (Angular Clamp) does not have this association. How can I lose the "per hour" association and have it just like the pre-inputted product? Thank you!

Showing pins of the locations and then pulling up information on the screen when you click on the pin. I want it to pull from the properties table I already have on my FileMaker database.     I am running the FM Starting Point solution 2.1v8 with FileMaker Pro 13.0v5. In the ToDo popup box there is a Due Date drop down box for a calendar date and also a Time selection box. When clicking on the Time box you have to manually enter a time with either am or pm. I am wondering if there is a way to have a wheel pop up when you click on the Time box. Then just be able to spin the wheel to the desired Time. Anybody know?

    I'm really new at this so be gentle.. when creating an invoice or an estimate, and I select an account or contact under Basic Info, the Bill To and Ship To address boxes are auto-populated except for Address 2 and Country. Where would I change this so that it does populate those boxes? These same two boxes are not included on printed (or emailed) invoices or estimates.     Was checking out the map function-from the Contacts layout. It doesn't show the marker on the map. The address is correct, the lat and lng are populated, and the customer is marked as active. It showed markers the first time I opened it, but not now. I even went back to my zip file, unzipped, and opened a fresh version-no luck. Any thoughts/help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Steve

  55. I am not quite convinced but I am considering switching from MAC to PC. The question however is : how to get my FMSP data from my MAC to aPC ? I thought it over and my logic saus : 1. Export MAC FMSP into an excel sheet 2. Download new FMST on the PC 3. Adjust the changes I made in "fields" on the PC so the "fields" do correspond 4. Import the excel sheet from MAC on PC and then in FMSP on PC Is this the workaround or is there a better one ?

  56. Hi to everyone, I had left FMPro in the dust for many years until I discovered FM Starting Point. This free solution made me fall in love again with databases. So, I big shout out to the RCC developers. My question: Do I need to create a "Locations" table to be able to set up multiple branches of a company? This solution would run on he Cloud or a server. I could move the "My Company" information in the "Preferences" table to the "Locations" table so each branch could use its own set of address. Is this the right approach? Thank you.

  57. What I would like to do is link contacts to contacts with a specific role attached. The example would be a family signing up for services, I'd like to say enter the mom, dad, and kids and then link the mom & dad to the kids so when you look up the dad/mom you'd see they are connected to the kids. Additionally, I'd like to add the role, so in the case it would be 'mother' or 'father' of the connected contact. When I tried to take the 'add connected contact' from another tab (say account table) it says it isn't related. But the question is, since I am linking a contacts table to itself, how would this work? Thanks!

    I'm using FM Starting Point and duplicated the Invoice "module" (layout with tables, tos, etc.) to create an Orders "module". I dutifully went through and changed the fields, relationships, scripts, etc. etc. However, when I click Add Item and the Popover Button appears, when I select a product it is not being added to the order. So I ran the debugger while going through the process and the debugger shows that the old OnObjectExit script (from the Invoice "module") is being called for. I double checked all the scripts and TOs and everything and all do indicate they are the correct new ones I created (by duplicating the Invoice ones) for the orders. So why is it still…

  64. This is one of the hardest thing I been trying to acomplish, I want to transform the contacts module into a Donors module for our blood bank. I have transform most of the fields already to match the donor information we will need. However I want each donor to show in a portal all the units or (products) associated to that donor. Example: 1 Donor can donate blood every 56 days 1 unit (which has a serial number associated to it) I want each donor to show all the products or units associated to him.     Hello once again I been trying to make a calculation for the conversion of weight into ml's. Normally I do this by dividing the the weight by 1.026 and the results is the amount in ml's ( 1.026 is the density of blood, plasma, serum ) I have a field for weight and another for volume I want to input the weight and have the result show in volume after being calculated.     Often we have to revise estimates for a customer, and they may come back and order against an estimate that is not the most recent. I am trying to find the best way to tie all the estimates together with the same Estimate or Job #, and increment a revision #. So far I've created a Job# field, and a Revision number field, but having trouble getting the revision number and job number to increment correctly when I have a new estimate vs a revision. As I've started to investigate, I have noticed references to T01 or T14, which appear to be Tables not in view. Can anyone confirm that my assumption is correct - or am I doing something wrong?     I'm working with a client adapting FMSP version 4 (they use FM 13). The map always shows the same area of California no matter what the address is. The same thing happens with the latest version of FMSP and FM 15. When I run through the debugger to get the actual coordinates and plug them into Google on the web the are plotted correctly. Is there something I'm missing in the setup for this to work properly? Thanks

  71. I would like to start by thanking the developers for such a wonderful solution. Our organization has been successfully adapted FM starting point to our current needs. However one of the biggest challenges we have right now comes from having the invoices and Estimates List more than 18 items when they print. I have read in another discussion that was solution for it however I wasn't able to truly grasp the meaning of it. Any help I could get to solve this would be truly appreciated. Thank you.

  74. I am a distributor. My customers can also be distributors. They can also be large companies with many locations and hundreds of contacts, like Pepsi. Is it wiser to keep the "Accounts" table as is with only one "bill to" and "ship to" address and really treat accounts as locations, or create a separate table for "ship to" addresses and associate them with an account relationally?   80. Hello there, I've just started using FM Starting Point as a guide for my own app, and so far I have learned a few very important things from it, so thank you for that right away. Now, one of the things I was trying to do is to have the First and Last names to appear together in a Text only field. Let me try to be more specific. In the Contacts tab of FM Starting Point, there are the First and Last Name fields to the left, and to the right, next to the photo, the names appear ordered in a separate Text field.     As I am getting interested in a chromebook, I was wondering if you can run FM Startibgpopint on a chromebook. I already found some answer that you can't run locally Filemaker on a Chromebook. So what would be a solution. I like the idea of having FMSP in the cloud. My current problem that needs solving is I created a few new fields and portals on the estimates module in which I must manually put a customer Reference Number, portal created for showing the Cubic meterage, and a calculation field which calculates the total cartons needed as a result of the Quantity input and the Master carton qty.   87. This has a bunch of fixes. If you have 4.6.5... the new "b" version gets you an inventory management fix...for products being committed to inventory. Every time we launch a major release... we end up stomping out tons of bugs... which people find... after the fact. You would never know that we had a pretty health beta... with over 200 bug documented and fixed. LOL - RC

    hi josenoulezdemiguel, Thank you for being a FM Starting Point fan. I would be glad to help you. In the Invoices module, click the "Commit from Inventory" button. This will apply product changes to your inventory. If by any reason you wanted take out a item from the invoices, click the "Revert Inventory", make your changes, and then click the "Commit from Inventory" button. In the Products module, the Sold, Sales, and Profit have not been changed. To update these totals, click the refresh icon at the top right. This will update your Products page and display all the current information about your product.

  91. After installing Filemaker Pro 13 from a download provided by Filemaker or my Physical DVD Disk with Key, upon opening software, I get a message that says my Trial Period is over. I have a Key that I enter during the install. I have spent a couple of hours with Filemaker trying to resolve this situation and now they are saying that I need to do a fresh install of all software on my Mac because it may be interfering with another application.     Using FMSP's SMTP mail feature isn't working--the mail server rejects the attempt (connection refused by SMTP server). This is true with FMSP and with "SMTP Send Mail Interrogation". HOWEVER, when I use "SMTP Send Mail", the test email is received, as it is when I use "Send Mail" from FM's menu. I am using identical settings in all cases. I have tried it with two different accounts I administer with the same mail server provider (MacHighway). Does this scenario suggest what is happening here? Is there a way to analyze in more detail why the server has refused the connection? I am actually using Donations 2.1, where it also fails to work.
