Hi all, Is anyone aware of a plugin that allows you to both send and receive SMS texts in FileMaker? I have found a few plugins that allow you to send from FileMaker but nothing that receives as well. I did find one workaround but this was using applescript and this solution is for Windows. I will likely be building off of a standard Contact Management database, and am wondering if there is a way to create an alarms field. Is it possible to create a field in a Contact layout that will allow you to set an alarm with a note? For example, if a user is adding information to a contact entry, and would like to followup with them in two weeks, is there a way to set a reminder to contact them in two weeks? i have built a solution that authors (many) reports and saves them as PDFs. i need to create a thumbnail image of the cover of each report and save it as a PNG or JPEG. i would love for this to be scriptable . i cant find a plugin that does this and it seams that there would be a need for this. does any one know a of a product that i can buy or of a simple solution to this problem??

Hey, I'm looking to integrate with iCal and Address Book. Right now it looks like the best option is to use iCal and Address Book Manipulator from Productive Computing. However, other solutions like iCal Connector also look good and cost about the same. Does anyone know of a benefit of one plugin over another?

Hi, I have successfully (well partially!) set up the auto update plugin. It works where the plugin isn't already installed, but if the plugin is installed then it doesn't update. It re-downloads each time and saves a file in the users update folder with the extension .fmx.new. The old plugin is still in the folder with the .fmx extension so it seems it doesn't overwrite the existing plugin so never gets loaded. The plugin isn't the program files folder, only in the users extension folder. Has anyone else come across this or got an idea what might be going on? It is filemaker pro 10, filemaker server 10, windows 7 32 bit.

Hi, Where does FileMaker 11 Advanced (Mac) store its plug-ins? I'm trying to update a 360Works Plug-in, bij replacing the old version in the folder FileMaker Pro 11 Advanced/Extensions. Aftre a restart of FM, the old version is still loaded. I removed the fiolder "Extensions" completely, and removed all FileMaker preferences. Fm Still load two extension. Hello! I'm new using FileMaker and Aperture but I want to import my pictures into a FileMaker database and someone mentioned this plug in. I installed it but I can't connect to my, or any, database. I open the FileMaker file and turn JDBC sharing on and give Access to all users (It's a test). I don't know if I'm missing something since I really don't know anything about servers or sharing. I've trying to use the TROI URL plugin to 'post' data to the internet. I have some test data that works if I drop the url into a browser, or if I use the url in the FM url script step. But I can't get the test data to work with the TROI URL plugin and its TURL_Post external function. I can't use the url script step in general because 'real' data creates a url that is too long. Anybody willing to give it a shot? I've run out of ideas to try. I looked at cURL but this is my first foray into this world and I might as well have opened a Greek dictionary. I am having trouble finding a faxing plugin for FM7. I really don't know why. I need to send estimates and followup faxes to customers from my database (I just print the layout). We use a fax printer on our server for all of our faxing. Can anybody help with this? Windows XP to 7.

I have been receiving information from Authorize.net about changes that Visa/MC are requiring when processing debit or gift cards. Something like we are supposed to show the card balance on the receipt. Does anyone know if eauthorize is going to support this? I'm using version 5.0 so I haven't see 5.1 but the release notes don't say anything about this. I assume authorize.net has modified their system to send back this information, but if the plugin isn't setup to receive it, I'm not sure how I will get it. I don't want to have to pay worqsmart $50 just to ask this question, if I don't have to. Thanks

I don't know for you, but for myself, I hate using the mouse. I'm a keyboard shortcut freak. I use Autohotkey to add some keyboard shortcuts to FM script editor such as CTRL+ALT+C to add a comment or CTRL+ALT+D for a dialog box instead of using the mouse. Autohotkey use an easy to learn scripting language. hi guys, need just need a little bit of advice from someone that has used record filtering within this plugin. Ive got this plugin to retrieve messages from my outlook sent items box for a specific email address, however I have emails that are wrapped in apostraphes which it seems to ignore so for example when i apply the filter To = '[email protected]' - it will import all emails to [email protected] but not '[email protected]' I have no idea why Outlook is putting apostraphes around the email address on some occasions and not others. Any advice would be appreciated.

Like Costco.... take a picture it gets laid to membership card.. We have additionally, also 2 standard sheets 8 1/2x11 size to scan and attached to our client.. My application is done up to .. currently operator using Filemaker right clicks or inserts image to container... The major problem is any photoshop editing... etc... I need some help from someone out there. I have taken over / decided to do something with the FileMaker DB at our plant. I am in the middle of rewritting one where the user will be inserting up to 31 pictures in one layout. Past experience tells us to keep the file sizes as small as possible with keeping the resolution up to make the document usable and the DB functionable. The users I have are complaining about having to take the pictures and use a third party source to compress the pictures before inserting them. Is there an economical plug-in that I could set up on a script trigger to run after the container is modified to automatically compress the picture?

Do anyone know of any plug in that work with fingerprint scanners with Filemaker pro on the mac. I would like to use it as a check in system. I currently use barcodes, but would like to move over to fingerprint scanning instead. I read the posts from a couple of years ago, and all the links are dead. I have a windows xp sp3 box that has several user accounts. In some of the accounts, the plug-ins don't show up in edit/preferences/plug-ins, therefore they don't work. (FM10) Anyone have ideas on how I can fix this?

I am looking to upgrade to FM 10 Family, and I downloaded the manuals to see if I am getting this feature correct, but when you look it up, it just says "See Help". So I just want to confirm: With this new feature, can I now trigger the this script to run via IWP/CWP? In previous FMP versions, a plug-in downloaded by FMS Auto Update and registered by script action would not work for me until FMP restarted. It appears in version 10 that the plug-ins are immediately available. If someone else can confirm this, I can simplify my auto update scripts. Thanks, Gary

I wrote a plug-in for Filemaker 10. It controls external hardware during idle processing, Do_PluginIdle. If I process during kFMXT_Unsafe, it works fine until I disable the plug-in. Disabling the plug-in causes a race condition where Do_PluginShutdown is sometimes called while I'm processing Do_PluginIdle. If I don't process during kFMXT_Unsafe, it won't work when running a script. I don't ever get PluginIdle with kFMXT_ScriptRunning.

Anyone have any experience with Fusion Charts for reporting? I was trying to get this working in my DB but isnt exactly smooth sailing and unable to get it working. Was curious if anyone else has used it and if its worth spending the time trying to learn how to get it working.

Hi all, I am looking for a plugin for FMSA 10 to send email over SMTP. It needs to achieve 2 things... Firstly get around the issue in FileMaker Server 10 send email SMTP script step with UTF-8 encoding names and subject text Secondly it would be nice to send html emails. The Run Event command does not give us back any output and do not wait the end of the command to proceed. So this is not an option for me. There are plenty of plugins for sending HTML emails out there, but they all seem to send via SMTP "silently". What I mean by this is, I'm looking to have the standard FM SendMail behavior where the outlook email pops up and must have "sent" clicked to go out with the ability to use HTML. Can you advise me how to use this Plug In to allow transition between two printers, 1 for paper and 1 for labels, in my application? The examples given with the plug in use Calculations but I am used to printing from the Script menu. Also, I don't use a global field in my application. Hello, I was trying to develop a c++ code to develop one plugin to disable the close button of the FM application child window and NOT the FileMaker Application window (By Child window, I mean, the database application opened in the FileMaker Advanced application window). I have the child window handle. However, I am unable to disable the close button by using GetSystemMenu, RemoveMenu functions. I have read that there was a plugin for FM Pro that among other things could suppress or alter the closing splash screen in FM Pro runtime applications. I'm developing some solutions for FM Pro but I'm not jazzed about the closing splash screen for a variety of reasons. Does anyone know of this plug in, and if it even still exists? I've got a strange question for the group-- After limping along for too many weeks with the pre-release version of FM10 on one of my Macs, I finally installed FM Adv 10.0.1. I realized there was a problem, though, when I tried to launch FMP Adv 8.5 and discovered that a couple of old plug-ins I still depend on suddenly wouldn't load. Old copies of ExportFM and SMTPit that had been loading in FMP 8.5 just fine, now suddenly will not load. The only obvious change I made to my system was installing FMP 10. Does anyone know why the 10 installation would affect plug-in loading for 8.5? More importantly, can you suggest a fix that will allow them to load…

I base that statement on the fact that when I pass a published test vector to it, its encrypted RC4 result differs from what is expected. I'm using DoScript to trigger a script whenever a record is committed: i.e., whenever the user has finished editing a record and either moves to another record or creates a new record, a script should trigger. It's working fine, but the script I'm triggering manipulates the contents of the record that has been committed. However, using the code Let ( queueScript = mFMb_DoScript( "TriggeredScript" ) ; mFMb_DS_LastErrNum = 0 ) To trigger the script means that it's triggered after the record being edited is committed. I'm looking for a simple dialog plugin that allows the Custom Dialog window to resize automatically (larger) to fit the text. I'm aware of the plugins from Troi and 24U. They are wonderful, but I'm selling a FileMaker database and would need a developer license. That's a bit steep for just needing a larger dialog window:) I use multiple Custom Dialogs throughout my database so resizing them by dragging them larger is not an option. Odd that FileMaker is not able to allow individual Custom Dialog windows to have custom resize dimensions. We are experiencing an issue with one of our PC clients using the latest version of 24U simple dialog plugin (3.1.1). All works fine with Win XP SP3 & FM 8.5 but fails with XP FM9. A basic message and text field dialog works fine but as soon as we add either a popup / checkbox / radio field type,the dialog box seems to fail. There is no error message or any error code. I have a telephone interface supplying me incoming calls, lines, trunks, representing 1 through 12 buttons on a phone keyset.. I like to assign incoming line1 to F keys 1-12 lines, and makes most sense for an operator. Filemaker seems to only allow Crtl-1 through ctrl-9 and these are already used up. Would a plugin app exist or another solution?

We've got the Troi File plugin in use to create a drag and drop functionality for moving files into a system. The system is data separated, so there are two files. The target field being in the data file, though displayed on a layout in the interface file. The scripting is the interface file. This all works fine on any mac machine, however with a PC it seems like the target area for the drag drop never becomes active. Any suggestions?

Hi! Unless I'm missing something, I think FMI forgot to place the plug-in API in their FileMaker 10 Pro Advanced. I have the electronic distribution and there's no Extras/Examples/FMExample folder... Maybe it is only available on the CD distribution ? In previous FileMaker versions, the SDK to build plug-ins was inside this folder. I would like to get these 'included' files. Any idea ? Thanks.

Call me crazy but I want to modularize just about anything I can and here's what I've got to do: I have a few utility scripts that depend on being on the correct layout so that it corresponds the the appropriate context (think about imports, exports, replaces, etc). I have one utility script that will allow me to specify how many tables I have and it will loop through all target layouts and do it's thing. To whomever it concerns, I am having something of a difficult time importing the contents of a *.docx file into a field. Using Troi file manipulator 4.5 plugin, i can use the TrFile_GetContents to extract the text out of most documents, but not the cursed *.docx. What i hope to have in the end, is a field that contains the contents of a *.docx file which is referenced in the record, and the users able to do a search on this contents. Any ideas? I recently downloaded the CNS SMTPit plugin, installed tested on the machine and it worked however when I used it in Instant Web Publishing it didn't work. I have an automated database that calls up an intranet website and scrapes data that I need into my database. Occasionally the intranet site brings up a javascript alert which is of little meaning, but disables my automated FM script. I am trying to find a way to suppress this alert or automatically close the dialog box. When the dialog box is open, no FM functions are available until it is manually closed by clicking OK or pressing Return. I though the MBS plugin might be of help here, but my knowledge of Javascript is rather limited. If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it. I've created a new plugin, and on my development machine, if I drop the plugin into the Filemaker Extensions folder, FileMaker picks it up. But if I drop in an extensions folder on another machine FileMake doesn't pick it up. Is there something else I have to do deploy a plugin?

Using the demo application that comes with the product, when I record keystroke steps, regular keys (like typing 'a', 'b', 'c') work fine. But when I type a modifier with keystoke (such as 'command-a', 'opt-a' or 'control-a'), the events are ignored. Likewise when I execute the following script step: Set Variable [VUser_Replay( "type command p")] nothing happens (on Mac). It should invoke the Print dialog. I was one that had hoped that FM Mobile would allow true use of FM on a portable device and that fizzled with the first trial download for me. Hi I am a complete newbie to data bases in general. I've made a very small & simple file to collect some results from electrical tests. It is a record of equipment maintenance with a few fields to store PCB card number, location, condition etc. I have a second table containing fields to store the electrical test results. It holds the date of testing, card number (related to the card number in the first table) then four fields labelled 300mV, 5V, 7V & 10V (These are the four tests performed on the card) The data in these fields is the resulting output voltage of the PCB. Hi This is the scenario. We use MenuCOntrol Plug-in from Dacons to display popup-menus in our application. Everything was working fine till FM 8.5. Since we have shifted to FM 9.0, the Popup work fine but as soon as we select something, it takes a very long time to perform the script associated with that selection. Mostly happens for Reports where we have to display a search screen for the user to select the find for the reports. Any idea why this could be happeneing only in FM 9.0 Thankyou

I have just got a couple of LED scrolling displays for my shop to display current offers ect.They are connected to my network via ethernet and I have given them a seperate IP address so that the supplied software can program them independently. The company I got them from said they can also be programmed via Jetfile II protocol (which looks like ascii to me). I then had the idea to send data from filemaker fields in to to the displays. I am not sure if a plugin exists to send ascii via ethernet and I would want the plugin to run on Server 9 via a scheduled script. any info would be of help

hey, Ive looked at several plugins offered for doing email in IWP (using server 9, 8.5 adv client) they all seem to be email clients - something that kind of replaces Outlook or Mail. Such as 360 works and myFMbutler. a file maker email client is not what i am looking for. Is anyone aware of third party plugins not loading on FM 9.0v3 running XP Service Pack 3. I recently performed a clean install of XP SP2. When I ran windows update I went with SP3. Everything so far has worked fine except for my plugins not loading when I open FM. Any ideas or recommendations? I would like to first explore possible solutions before uninstalling SP3. I am having trouble getting the 'scriptParameter' parameter of the DoScript command to work. Here is my calculation (set in the auto-enter options of a text field called 'gCatDisp1'): gCatDisp1 = Let(myscript = mFMb_DoScript( "TestScript"; Get ( FileName ) ;"john"); gCatDisp1) The script "TestScript" triggers fine, but the Get(ScriptParameter) function returns nothing rather than "john". I believe there are plug ins that allow you to insert a pdf into a field, and the field would display a thumbnail of the first page of the pdf. User could click on the pdf and download, save it to the desktop, etc. Please provde me your views if such plugin exist. This should work out in both Windows and Mac platforms.

Ahoi! I recently made a project which utilises zippScript 2.2. It works well with Windows XP SP2 as well as MAC OS X, whilst hosted by Filemaker server. If I try to use the database locally on my computer, then zippScript doesn't work. If I get another client to connect to the shared database on my computer then the plug-in functions correctly on the client computer, but not the host computer. Any ideas on how to get zippScript working with a single user .fp7? GuruDrew
