First off, I am still using Filemaker 6 with all the latest updates for it on and Windows XP system. I recently have installed the most recent version of the Microsoft Intellipoint Mouse drivers and they seem to cause problems with filemaker. In some cases it just causes the filemaker screen to flicker noticeably but in other cases in seems to actually cause filemaker to crash completely. It took me awhile to connect it to the mouse drivers, but uninstalling them seems to have fixed the issue. Has anyone else run into something like this?

I'm going to get IT to upgrade my PC. When i go into relationship layout it's so slow to navigate around it's ridiculous. Attached is example of my relationships - as soon as I drag a TO it sits there and tries to re-draw everything ack. I have a Dual Core Pentium 2.8ghz, 500mb of Ram running Windows XP. Stock standard video driver - IT guy argues that upgrading this won't make a difference :)

Hi I have upgraded to FMP 8 but get error message "FileMaker cannot share files because another user is already sharing files using FileMaker on this computer". There is one 12 file database on FMP8 and I can only think its an old copy of FMP5 server thats causing it. Someone tried removing it but I'm left with 6 components which cannot be deleted - any ideas?

Looking for advice. We are in the final planning stages for launching our FM solution which has both an important IWP component and locally attached FM users. We are running FM Server 8 Advanced and are pleased with the IWP response to most challenges. I have two idle Windows Servers with plenty of memory of which I would dedicate one. I can submit for budget approval for a MAC server running OS X. Does anyone feel there is a benefit to one platform over the other? I am completely neutral and any advice would be appreciated.

I have hardware (a memory keyboard for an old foil stamping machine) connected to a computer ( WINDOWS XP SP2) through the serial port and would like to know if there is a way for me to send information to it. Currently we're using an old program written in DOS to do the trick, but we cannot make any modifications to it (No source code). Basically, All I need to send is a text file, but I can't seem to connect to the hardware, the DOS program has no issues connecting to it. Anyone got any suggestions that I could give a shot?

The windows Update KB924270 I believe is the culprit that was blocking my windows 2000 machines from connecting to our FMP Server. The only thing that had changed overnight was the windows updates and I went through and uninstalled them 1 by 1 until I was able to reconnect to the server. Just thought I would share this information. Server 8v4 2003 standard External Authentication through AD Clients: 8.5v1 Win 2000 Symptoms: Windows 2000 machines could see the server in the open remote dialog but were prompted to enter a password to connect, their accounts would then become lockedout.

Hi - I have Filemaker Pro 6 on my PC and I connect to a network database (which uses Filemaker Server 5.5 on Windows 2000 Server). I want to be able to connect to this network database with two distinct sessions (on the same PC) so that I can be in two different places in the program at the same time and flick between them quickly. Is this possible? Does anyone know a way to achieve it? Thanks in advance. B Gribbon

FileMaker 5 server on OS9 mac on Lan A (##.##.A.##) FileMaker 5.01 clients on PC. FM5/6 on Macs, on Lans B and C. All users set to TCP/IP. Dev Mac has AT disabled. Recently the IT dept changed IP addresses, but all seems fine as I gave them a desktop launch file to locate the host's IP, thus they just modified that. Many scripts still show the old IP but I can click to toggle them when I come across that, but I haven't tried to fix them all. I have a dashboard that calls up the hidden files via an external script. One file named calendar.fp5 now behaves bizarrely (this could predate the IP switch). From only the PCs, clicking on the script states that TravelCal…

I need to import a text file into filemaker daily. I am using scheduled tasks in XP to open a local filemaker database. This database runs a script when opened that opens a networked database and closes itself. When the network database opens a script runs that imports the data and then closes itself. The issue is that when the task runs the local filemaker file either does not open, or it opens once but then will not open again. When I try to open the file manually I get a message that the file is in use and cannot be opened. This is frusterating. Is there another way to go about it? Thanks, Moses

I am looking for a recommendation for a new system for our filemaker server. We have about 30 different databases, some small, some big, that all interact with each other. The application is in constant use throughout the day, and it manages our entire calendar system, client requests, and many other things. There are usually about 10 clients logged onto the system. A lot of things we do are rather quick, but anytime I change add a field, or change a table occurance relation, I feel the "hang" of the system working. Also, we have a few scripts that take way too long, and although the are doing some complex calculations with appointment times and other information, …

I have a runtime solution I created in Windows 2000 that uses the extension "exr" The user has the option to "save a copy as" thus producing multiple small databases that act like documents. I'm aware there are other ways handling this information but this is what the user likes. The user was able to double-click any of the .exr documents to start the Filemaker runtime solution. Something happened, I don't know what, but while accessing one of the "exr" databases, Windows asked to "Find the application." The user located the FM runtime solution and it fired up. The downside is that the user LOST the ability to double-click the .exr documents and now ha…

We have a database converted from FP V6 to be rolled out to 100 users. Have tested on various platforms and hardware. On one PC, in browse mode, parts of graphics are not visible, like the shading and outline of a tab. The text on the tab is seen. In preview mode, all are visible, it looks fine. Also, only on this PC, the cursor is not visible when tabbing from field to field so you cannot tell which field you are in and can only see what you have typed when you tab to the next field. This database looks fine on various laptops and desktop PC's as well as MAC. The PC in question is using Intel 82915G graphics card. A call to Filemaker said to upgrade to a GForce c…

I have developed a FileMaker solution that is going to do a high degree of data manipulation. This FileMaker solution is going to be used as a companion tool with other databases (not necessarily FileMaker databases). My solution will import data from the databases into one table and then move the data to other tables to perform the appropriate calculations. There is a core particular script that will run on every record in the database. This core script will perform somewhere between 100 and 150 calculations on every record. It is likely that I will be processing batches of records anywhere from 5,000 to 50,000 records in size. I am looking at purchasing a …

Currently using FM5.5 server running a FM6 solution. Up to about 60 concurrent users, around 100 files hosted. Database size isn't all that big, probably around 400M right now, I don't expect it to ever get above a few gigs. In the next 12 months I'm planning to get a new server and migrate to FM8.5 and the newest FM server. I'll be merging all files into one (I know, that will suck) with maybe up to 80 concurrent users, or more. I'd also like the option of doing web publishing. What kind of horsepower are we talking about here? We already have a Windows Server 2003 license so I'll be running that. I believe I remember reading that since FM7 the server d…

Hello All I have developed an application to be distributed runtime kiosk mode for both Mac and PC. So far so good, both versions work reasonaby even if certain things need modifying for the PC runtime (resize window issues). The application is non modifyable and contains about 500 20Kb JPGs, one for each product. When I generate the runtime kiosk for PC it often seems to run irratically by returning false info of just displaying the the same info regardless of search criteria. This DOES NOT HAPPEN ON ALL PCs! Some work fine and others, often newer, just don't work. The same problem occurs when trying to run directly from a CD. On Macs there is no prob…

I am relatively new to Filemaker and so the solution to my problem maybe very simple. Also, because I am new to this, I am providing as much information as I can. We are running Filemaker 7 with Computer One hosting the database. We are NOT using the special server version of FM 7. On Computer One, a VPN server has been created using the Windows Home Edition VPN server ability. The ports on the firewall/router have been forwarded to Computer One. On Computer A, a new computer account was created in XP called VPNUSER. Laptop A connects to the VPN using that special user. A VPN connection to this computer from the outside world is successful using Laptop A. Lap…

I maintain a rather large db for my police department. We run 12 machines all with XP w/sp2. Our server is a desktop some guy put a mirror drive into, I don't know much about computer hardware so all I can tell you about it is that it has a large hard drive and 2 Ghz of ram and the processor is a 2.4 Ghz. I'm not sure what kind of hard drive it has, but it seems I read something a while back on the forums about having the right hard drive??? (I looked but couldn't find the post) Our problem is that when FMServer 8 performs a scheduled backup, it slows the entire network down where users end up getting the dreded coffee cup icon. As I stated previously, this is a…

Hello, you would really help me if you could give me a solution for this: When I double click a file in windows explorer or when a hyperlink is placed in the startup folder to a filemaker file, the file itself doesn't open. Filemaker opens and shows the window 'Open New or Existing File'. I need the file to open by itself because my solution is used in a production environment and edited with only a barcode scanner. Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me understand how to determine the proper cache setting for my workstations. I've only been working with Filemaker on and off for a couple of years and I have just left the cache setting at the default of 8MB. But I have a lot of memory (1G) in my Windows XP workstation so would I be better off making this a higher number? If the answer is yes then how high should I set it and what would the formula be for workstations with lesser memory? I suppose I should have been asking this question a long time ago but... well you know. Thank you, Becky

I am not sure it this is where the problem lies but let me explain. My filemaker 7 server is running on 2003 server at a remote location. Their network uses a workgroup to share files. I have another 2003 server at my location that I want to have files transfered over via a VPN. We have a domain in my location. I found a zip utility that names the zip file as a timestamp. Using the Microsoft scheduler I execute a batch file that starts the zip utility to create the zip file of my filemaker backup. The next batch file is then executed by the scheduler to copy that zipped file to my local server. The last batch file then executed to move the orig…

OK, so I've been using Filemaker for several versions now and I'm just barely asking this question: Is there a way to use the scroll mouse (in Win XP) to scroll down the page instead of scrolling through records? I would like to be able to page down with the scroll wheel. Thanks. Sol

Hello all, I have a FM 5.5 server hosting some DB's. It's running on a Windows 2000 SP4 machine. Some of my in house clients use a FM shortcut (opener) to open up certain DB's across the LAN. Well, for the last couple of weeks when someone lanches the opener it take about a min before the Database opens up. I did a port scan on the server and it has port 1025 open, does this matter and if not how can I troubleshoot this speed issue? Hope this makes sense. Thanks, Jay

I have an attendance database that I developed for a local school. I have some issues that I would like to resolve. You seem to be the best choice based on your experience and ease of explination... First off, I am running on a Windows machine. I have Filemaker Unlimited 6.0 Pro. I needed this because I bought this right before Filemaker Server 7.0 came out. I also needed up to 80 teachers to be able to access this for their first period attendance across the Web Companion Interface. There are two files with a portal sharing them. One has all student records on it and it is "portal-ed" through to the main one. To access you pull up the teacher's name and all stu…

I am running 6.0v4 and have recently upgraded several office sets to XP Home Edition, sp2. One set, already existing, has never had any issues with the Filemaker databases. The new sets all started running the database fine. Then one by one, have developed what I call "slow" disease ONLY with FM Pro. At first, if this was noticed right away, performing a restore to an earlier point on the XP machine would make it go away. This is no longer the case. The database, even if moved directly to that set and not hosted through the network, opens very slowly (3-5 minutes) and screen switching, especially between files, takes from 30 seconds to 1 minute. On the same network, mac…

I'm at my wits end with this problem. I searched through previous posts but couldn't find the solution. I had a Windows NT Server 4.0 which is my file server. I had my Filemaker Pro 4.0 files hosted on this server. Users in my LAN could access the files via FM clients in the network, as well as from outside the LAN (remote). Then recently I upgraded the file server to Windows 2003 Server. I installed FM Pro 4.0 in the new server and hosted the SAME files. Now, client access from within my LAN is not affected. They can access the hosted files, no problems. Problem is when I try to access the files from remote (outside my LAN). I try the normal way (which wo…

My databases contain dynamic graphs or maps which reflect data specific to each record, and which need to be refreshed when switching records. Navigating among records is therefore done with brief scripts that include a refresh step; the Status Area is hidden. However, one can still scroll records with the mouse wheel, and lose the updating. Can scrolling be turned off from within Filemaker? It seems unrealistic to expect people to turn off scrolling ahead of time.

This is an unsual problem one of my clients is having. Recently, they revamped all their network and hubs from 10MB to 100MB. As of that time, each time a client logs on, they are made to wait around 2 minutes before FMP is ready for them to begin, and each time they print for the first time in a session, they are also made to w…

i have a small office setup with FMP5 on 4 machines. the pertinent files reside on a shared folder of the "host" computer. sometimes all 4 users access the at the same time. originally, the system worked fine. now, for reasons unknown, 1 or 2 of the machines can't access the files after it is started on another machine. i'll get "file is already in use and is a single user file" (or words to that effect). usually the program opens with the flash of a small screen alluding to the files being "multi-user". in that case, it seems to work o.k. other times it opens without that and no other user can access the files. any ideas? thanks.

I am running a FileMaker 4.1 database on a Mac G3 with OS 9. I need to have someone in my office access the database from her Windows XP computer. Several years ago, I had purchased some software called PC/MacLAN that would allow a Win98 PC user to read a file on a Mac running OS 9. It worked beautifully, but I haven't tried to see whether it's still available (or if it will work on XP). Do I still need to purchase that software, or some other program like Dave? Or is the XP PC more likely to read the Mac files without it? (Please don't tell me to convert the Mac user to a PC. I'm stuck with the current network configuration.) Thanks!

After I restart the computer, I try to open FMP5.5 and I get a startup error. It's a dialog box that pops up and says "This application has been installed incorrectly or modified by another program. Please run the Installer to get a fresh copy of the application after determining the cause." Now, this message might as well have an error number attached because I have no idea what's going on. FMP installs have always been straightforward and no other program is…

Hi, I have developed an application that uses the COM/OLE functionality of FileMaker7 to active the running of a script when a certain event is triggered in the custom application. Is it possible to pass a parameter in the DoFMScript function call? If so, could someone please give me an example? If not, then what is the best way of passing information into FileMaker so that a script can use the information to perform a specific function. I'm using Delphi 7 to develop the application and OLE (Late Binding) to link to FileMaker. Thank you.

Hi, I dont know if my problem is because ofthe now outdated version, but we have been successfully using FM pro 4 on Windows NT and then 2000 platform. However, some installs dont work on the newer XP machines. Those that do install keep crashing and damaging the files. Is there a problem with this version in XP?

Hello: I have a user who is experiencing the following symptom. Whenever the user launches FileMaker Pro V5.5.1, The application hangs at TCP/IP Successfully Loaded. Also the CPU spikes to 100% with System Idle Process hogging a large chunk of it. FileMaker Pro eventually opens up after several minutes of waiting. So far, I have disabled her roaming profile & disabled the Symantec Corporate AntiVirus client. I have also uninstalled & reinstalled the software. The problem still persists. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

So, I have this solution for the home inspection industry that was done in FMP5/6. We run it in kiosk mode on ruggedized tablet PCs running XP Tablet Edition. Upgraded (?) one of them to SP2 the other night and, lo and behold, Microsoft has completely changed the way they handle the Tablet Input Panel (popup keyboard, handwritting recognition, etc). Seems it now senses when the user clicks on a text entry field (supposedly in any application) and a little button pops up next to that field. The user clicks on the button and the TIP pops up. Simple. Elegant... except it doesn't work at all with FileMaker!! Anybody know why this might be? Does Filemaker not make …

While presently using Calsnap to choose and enter a date in a filed, I'm looking for the avenue (script perhaps) to have the calendar pop up ON top of my layout page and NOT as a seperate page in itself. When I access the Calsnap, it pops up in a brand new window, taking up the entire screen. I'm sure there is a way to control the way the calendar appears but having difficulty. My need is for the layout page to remain on screen with the calendar pop-up showing somewhere on that layout. Your suggestion/solution would be greatly appreciated.

This is probably more a network problem than an FM problem but since FM keeps hanging, I need to resolve it. It isn't just our Host that is loading twice - just about everything is. I spent my day disconnecting mapped drives - each system had approx. 20 each. They were mapped to everyone elses systems - many folders and ALSO their c:. They were even mapped to everyone's CDs. After a fresh boot on one system (which took 10 minutes), I opened My Computer. It took 5 minutes to open. Then I [ctrl-alt-del] and yep ... TWO My Computers listed! We use Win2000 sp4 (I think). I'm not the network consultant. I began 'unsharing' all the shared folders. We upgraded …

We are networked (not with Server) and won't be for another two weeks. Yes, I'm counting the days. We have Opener file which performs subscript to host file. For some reason, the opener - after asking for password to main file, displays nothing. I found out why ... in the menu Window > Show Window - the host file is listed. It was HIDDEN! Upon clicking it, the file opens fine but I want to fix this!!! I have searched the shortcuts, opener file and main files and can find nowhere that this default setting exists! I don't ever use hide window in any script. Can someone point me to where this setting is controlled? I double-checked our startup script in both …

I have written an accounting program which is used on Mac and Windows. When printing monthly accounts the Windows runtime version defaults to 'Records being browsed' which means the accounts don't print properly - no problems on the Mac version. The Windows computer has to have something printed and the Print dialogue set to 'Current record' so that the accounts print as they should when you then click on Monthly accounts. Can this be set to be the default? If the 'pre account printing' is not done lots of incorrect accounts are spewed out. Thanks for your help, Ian

I've used Windows Terminal Services for other applications and would now like to use it for FileMaker. I've read the FileMaker white paper entitled "Running FileMaker Pro 6 on Windows 2000 Terminal Services." It doesn't look too promising: FileMaker Server cannot (or at least should not) be installed on the same computer as Windows Server/Terminal Server. And p. 6 of the white paper says "Terminal Services clients can access FileMaker Pro files designated as Single User files....Multi-User files...are not supported on Terminal Services Clients." Doesn't that make Terminal Services useless for FileMaker? Obviously I'd like to be able to host multi-user FileMaker file…

I'm a Win2000 Admin that's new at the FileMaker game. At our college we've used FMPro for some time on a Mac, but I'm the first to implement it on PC. The installation looked fine, and we copied a single file database over from our production system. Before we go live, I went to set up and test the built-in FM backup system, after which I was then going to backup the resulting file with our central backup system (Veritas BackupExec backing up over the network to tape). When I setup the backup in FM using the FM admin tool, it all looks fine. When I use "run now" to test it (or wait and look the next day at a scheduled backup) the "last run" line in the admin screen …

About 1 out of 4 times both FileMaker Pro 7 and Developer 7 freeze when loading. I'm using Windows XP (SP1), with 2 GB RAM and plenty of page file space. The PC is a dual Xeon 3.06 GHz system. No other applications freeze on loading. I've run sfc.exe (system file checker), no problems. I've run Norton WinDoctor and System Mechanic, no problems. Has anyone else encountered this problem? My guess is that one or more of my system dlls is damaged, but none of my diagnostic programs can find it.

Hi, I've created a runtime solution with Dev6. The solution uses another application to download/process/export data from flash memory cards (runtime opens the application using "Open..." script command). The application opens a separate window on top of FM solution, from which the download process is managed. When the download process is done, I'd like the application run a script within the FM runtime (import data) - is this somehow possible with runtimes (v6)? Thanks in advance, Jari V.

I HAVE A TWO MACHINE P2P NETWORK IN MY OFFICE. A NEW XP PRO MACHINE AND A MAC OS 10.3.3. THE PC HAS A FILEMAKER PRO 6 SOLUTION LOADED ON IT AND ACTS AS HOST TO THE OTHER MACHINE. Hello wizards, I have used FM5 on my Korean W-XP operation with no problem at all. Unfortunately, I am unable to install FM7 on my machine. At the beginning when the installshield wizard is preparing for installation, it stops and gives an error message saying "the path to (meanless name) contains invalid character" and rolls back. I dont even get to a step where to customize the file path. According to a technical staff at filemaker, version 7 does not yet support Korean language. But, he mentioned a few ways to get around (or trick the system) and avoid the character problem. Can any of you help me how I can do it? Thanks for your consideration! Y i…

I've been having a sharing problem that I cannot seem to get resolved. Even though the files in question are shared as multi-user by TCP/IP, we always get the message "file.fp5 is currently in use and could not be opened." The file is a single-user, or the host could not be found on the network. This happens when one user has the file(s) open. Is there a way to have more than one user on a file at the same time? We are using Microsoft Windows network. One computer is running XP with FMP ver 5.0v3, and the other computer is running Windows 2000 with FMP 6.0 v4. Version: v6.x Platform: Windows 2000

Dear all, I am having some issues getting two offices connected to a FileMaker Server. We have our FileMaker Server running on Win2K Pro in New York. All NY FMP5/W2KPro clients can connect to the box. We want to allow the people in the DC office to access the database. Both offices have T1's. When I take my W2KPro laptop to DC, I can open the database in NY with no problems, aside from some latency. But none of the DC WinXPPro machines can open the NY database. They cannot see the NY server in hosts when I put in the IP Address of the NY FM Server. What's interesting is that when I open a command window and type netstat, it sees no open connections. For th…

I've been asked by a company to develop a FMPro solution for them. They have two offices - one in London and one in Glasgow connected by a VPN. I don't know a great deal about their set up and have never had to work with FMPro when some of the users are off site. I've worked with the server version before and run it across a variety of platforms. What do I need to establish to make sure those in Glasgow can access the live databases down in London? If I install filemaker server on the server in the London office and individual licenses on each machine, will those in Glasgow be able to access the system? Thanks nicole

Hi Folks, I'm posting this in the Windows section because I think this problem may be more OS-related than FM-related. The reason I say this is because I've successfully reproduced the problem with both FM6 and FM7 on both Windows XP Pro and Windows 2000. Here's what happens: When I open Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC), none of the FileMaker ODBC drivers are displayed. Not for User, not for System, and not for File. Nada. This is what it looks like: Yeah, I've activated the Local and Remote Data Access plug-in's in FM, and I've set my database sharing privileges to Multi-User. I've even completely uninstalled FileMake…

Hi, we are hosting about 25 databases on a Windows 2000 pro machine with 60 users. We have mostly Windows 2000 machines with a few 98 machines. We are all connected via network, with switches and no hubs. We have one user who keeps on being kicked out of Filemaker with error -20. All the network cables have been tested from the machine up to the switch and there is no fault. She is running all the latest patches and she is locked out of all databases not just one. I have checked the network settings on the card so the power management does not shut down the machine or put it to sleep. She is still logged on the network and can mail and browse. If anyone has…

here's the basics. we have the host machine, runng fmp 5.5 on xp. we have a laptop running fmp 5.5 on windows 2000. our solution consists of about 8 files, linked thru various relationships. i'm not sure if this matters, but they are of modest size, the largest of the files currently has around 2000 records in it, with about 200-250 per month added. i've just begun to learn about how to network these two together, and from my understanding, i don't want to use the shared folders to have mult-user access to the files. this apparently just seems to either make it not possible to open the file from the 2nd to open the file, or it allows the two computers to a…

We are having problems with one of our users machine. When she opens FMP, it goes through and loads the fonts, says Successfully loaded TCP/IP and then just sits there for a minute or two before finally opening the application. I can't figure out why this is happening. We have uninstalled FMP5.5 & reinstalled it and had the same behavior. We also tried installing FMP 6 and it had the same behavior. There is 26 Gb free on the hard drive, no fragmention, and I ran an error check on it and it turned up nothing. Any ideas why it would doing this? Thanks for the help! A set of DBs are going to run on Windows, so I do the final layouts, etc. in Windows (Mac is my primary platform). My Windows PC running Win 2000 is behind a firewall, so I have it auto-login as administrator. W2K & FileMaker are all update to date. I use a bunch of custom colors. In the color palette, I add them to the custom colors, but when I quit FileMaker the palette doesn't get saved, it is blank at the next launch. In the Display Control Panel, I can set custom colors & they stay there between Restarts, etc. Any ideas? TIA, Sam

Here is the scenario. I have a Windows 2000 Server with an active directory domain. I have the FMP databases on a shared folder. I have a script mapping the workstations (all XP Professional) to the shared drive. I can open the databases on the server and it says that it's opening the files for network sharing. However, none of my users can open them. They will get the "file is currently in use and cannot be opened". If I move those databases to another workstation, they can be opened just fine. I have removed the shared name from the folder, and moved the databases around the server, but I still get the same error. Can someone help please?

Hi we are running FM Server 5.5 and FM 6 accross a few networked win2000 PC's The problem i have is this, whenever i open files from the server i get a 10-20 second delay halfway though loading the file ie half the interface will load then it will hang then about 20 seconds later the rest of its there and working fine. Its just when im changing between files i get this hang and its really annoying! It only does it on 2 PC's out of about 15.... I dont know if its worth noting but if i open up FM6 on the server it does it there as well so it may not be a network problem? any ideas???

I developed a db for a cliet that was using MS Works. They wanted a Filemaker or Access database because they needed it to be multi user, and Works can not be used on a network with more than one person at a time. With Works the database fields can be easily inserted right inside the Works wordprocessor, and they would type numerous letters and do mail merges, and put fields into the text. The word processor had word wrap and was a decent word processor (much better than the Filemaker word processing within the layouts). I put together a database that is far superior as far as database capabilities, but does not make it as easy to do word processing and insert field. Th…

I posted this in "Plug-ins" yesterday, but realized this may be a Windows issue: Okay, so the clent ended up opting for ProPrint from Afeina as a way to switch between printers on one Win98 box (FM 5.5, running off FMServer) and now one printer almost always throws this strange "cyclical redundancy error" from the print folder. I'm a Mac guy, not a Windows guy, so I may be missing something obvious, but it seems that the error is in ProPrint and/or FileMaker, as the printer works fine in any other setting, and printing from the File menu works, too. Any suggestions? -Stanley
