I’m attempting to get information from DVLA (Uk car plate registration service) using their API. You enter a reg and it returns simple info about it. I can get it to work in POSTMAN perfectly. I copy the curl code from postman and put it into Filemaker i am using \” to start and end the headers. when it comes to —data-raw I have used JSONsetElement function. I have a feeling my —data-raw is off or I’m missing some obvious header in the api. Have been using FX.php since 2008, ran it through to version 16, and it has worked great. Recently rewrote tons of code to update for Server 19, FX.php, the Data-API. FX.php changed a bit and some new code is needed to make it work, and it works great. The problem is, I got it working on Windows...... Now I need to do this again for MacOS. When I try to turn on IWP within FM11 Advanced I get the following error: "Filemaker pro cannot start instant web publishing because filemaker server or another instance of filemaker pro is running on this machine." I need to filter the resources. the "&fliter_resource=X|Y|Z" works in a web browser and it filters the resources. But the same URL doesn't filter in a webviewer in filemaker. If I put only one resource to filter "&fliter_resource=X" then it works in both web browser and webviewer. I am working on an API integration from FileMaker 17 to Emma. Generally when I work on a new API, I get the curl working on the command line and then translate that into FM. Does anyone know if there is a problem with FX.php and PHP7? I installed PHP7 yesterday and the it is up and running but I cannot display and record data after a find. I turned on error checking and there is no errors and on a simple find, I get a found count of 1 which is correct, but the array containing the record data is empty. I'm developing some php scripts using FMS16 on Windows (2k8R2) with CWP and PHP, but am running into an issue I can't seem to solve. As part of the script, I want to log when the script gets invoked, and to do that I figured I'd use an fopen() and fwrite(). However, when I try to fopen() in write mode, FMS throws a 500 Internal server error. When I try fopen in read mode its fine. I've moved the log file to several locations but none seem to work. Does FMS only allow writing to certain folders? Which ones? I've tried the http folder, the data folder nothing seems to work. PHP works as I've already created some scripts that interact with the DB.

Hello, I am trying to connect to our current database with our shipping company so I can update the status of the delivered orders. To do that, I am currently using insert from URL and then parse the code to extract the info I need. However, I believe there should be a cleaner and safer way to do it using webservice. D3plus.js is really nice as it makes it much much easier to implement a Treemap using a simple JSON object containing your data. Hello all: I have a client that is using FM pro 12, and wants other users in his office to have access to the solution. They are using this solution to generate letters to found sets in the db. I figured it would be really quick to just pop it up on IWP, but then noticed the print functionality doesn't work in IWP (and doesn't work on WebDirect either, so upgrading wouldn't help me). The web site developer has given us an API, and we use the BE_HTTP_PUT_DATA command for this purpose. This is used with FMS14 scheduled script. Results are MOSTLY successful. However, occasionally the script will hang. We have put a time limit on the server schedule, and it is supposed to abort if the time limit is passed. Hi Until now I have been using FM as a single stand alone product, I now need to be able to share my FM database on a PC (windows 7) with multiple users on the same PC. Without having to log off and close down the app for each user to allow the next user to connect. Before I purchase new licenses, i would like to know if this is actually possible and what should I buy?, - I need approx 5 users on 1 PC, all connected to the same database. We have a certificate of attendance built in PHP/HTML which we ask customers to print or save as PDF. A lot of them are having difficulty with this. its easy for Mac users with the Save as PDF option but PC users are having issues depending on what software they have. Is there a way to convert a web page into PDF so that it maybe downloads to the clients file system. I have a table that iterates search results from FMFind and this is pretty standard and works well. But I want to have a heading above the table which echoes the name of a course. We are using PHP v5.5 and a plugin called PHPMailer. Yesterday our registration system froze where the plugin generates emails to customers notifying them that their registration has received. An error code 230 is being reported by $errors and its not on my list of errors. Does anyone know what the error means? One post on another forum I found said its DNS related.

I have been able to deploy a database with instant web publishing of my FileMaker 10 database for camper registration to a non-profit summer camp. I have spent many hours trying to implement the send mail function via SMTP. Within FileMaker 10, using Port 587 I can successfully run a script that sends mail, but the same script does not work through the web (even though it is supposed to be compatible)...Any suggestions? I have had nothing but trouble with buggy behavior. I am using DW CC, FMStudio Pro. My server is hosted with pointinspace. My webserver is godaddy. I can intermittently connect (which tells me I have settings right). However, sometimes connection is incredibly slow/and hangs. Whilst trying to find out how to detect mobile browsers (see this thread) I came across a feature which might be very useful in increasing the power of IWP. When clicking any button within IWP it seems it fires a JavaScript function in the form of top.iwp.[command]. This function then carries out the event/command. Therefore it's possible to look in the Frame Source for the IWP layout in question and find the command for a button, such as top.iwp.executebuttonscript(2,0,0). This can then be inserted into JavaScript within a Web Viewer. As far as I can tell once a button is inserted on a layout the button number doesn't change. Some examples of where this …

Has anyone found away around the 60 minute timeout for Instant Web Publishing users. I find that a ridiculouse limit as my users are constantly having to log back in. I hoped there was a plugin or code or script of somekind available to increase that.

When returned, so the user can preview what was entered, some of the glyphs appear as empty boxes in Internet Explorer, or number-filled boxes in Firefox. Hi Guys, I ran into a problem using IWP: We wanted to supply our department with information stored in our FileMaker DBs - we've FileMaker 8 Server Advanced. The information is divided into several files. So i added external files to the solution and everything works fine in normal client mode - as expected. But as soon as we want to see our data in the browser the results get quite tricky. One external table works perfectly (i.e. the fields are filled with the correct data) but all fields from the other table are saying "file missing". Again, this happens only using IWP. I have a user layout in filemaker which has a filtered portal on it displaying a total from another table. How do I get this filtered field to the website? I have tried several things however it keeps showing me the total for that field rather than the filtered total. ie. it is showing me the total amount of money received rather than how much that user has paid. My file is accessed with both Filemaker and IWP. According to the IWP user guideI need to do an 'Exit Application' script step, but only if the file is being accessed with IWP. I have upgraded my FM11 databases to FM13 and their corresponding webforms. I have one find that build a dropdown list that cannot connect to the database to find the list of options. Everything else works other wise including the submission of the form which successfully writes to the database (when that form pair is commented out). Switching my includes back to the old FX and adding .fp7 back on allows the form to see the old database and reflect the list. I can't figure out what has changed from 11 to 13 that now prevents this function call from working. Does anybody have any similar experiences?

I have discovered that the "Go to Portal Row" does not work for IWP which is a headache for my users as they are often working with over 100 records in the portal I am referencing. So the problem is the portal resets to the top after my users interact with the records. I am thinking of adding two fields "Initial Row" and "number of row" and using the filter option on the portal to display the records the user specified. I can't see what the issue is and have been getting this annoying message for ages. When I launch FM, I get the message - Can't share files... When I launch one of the two database I use, I get a message to say another user is sharing files using Filemaker, but this is a standalone desktop. Any ideas? FM10 Mavericks

Hi, I am creating php webpage for my filemaker application. I am getting problem in retrieve data from DB , it is taking so much time to retrieve and sometimes its going to deadlock condition. I got to know the reason that due to huge no. of fields (around 5000), in my table, it is taking so much response time. 1 suggestion i got that i have to use 1 alternate table where number of fields will be less for retrieve purpose. My client recently upgraded their FileMaker Server, an xServe, to OS X 10.9 and FMS13. As a result, an existing php web site, pulling FileMaker data using fx.php, is now broken. I perform a simple query, looking up a user by their account name. After the upgrade, I am returned 0 records with an error of '4'. The weird part is, when I run my script with debug on, and I manually click on the resulting query URL it works as I would expect. The XML result is the one record I asked for. I can't seem to find other forum posts, from others who have had this issue after upgrading to FMS13. Is anyone aware of any differences in FMS13 which might cause this failure? any tho…

Recently I moved my website to a new host and now find that when a logged in user sends and email through FMPro I am not receiving the email. The FMPro Database (v10.0.1) is hosted by Triple 8 and that works fine with logged in users able to place orders and look at their records. It is just the email issue. The emails are not being sent. An example would be a user places an order and I would, in the past, receive a confirmation email. Now I get no email. Is there are setting that should be changed when moving to a new web host? With FX.php we call various databases using standard code provided by Chris Hansen's documentation. The server_data.php file has a standard username and password combination for accessing the databases and the related database security account gives full access to the databases. Ive been advised that we should have tighter security so that hackers cannot access our databases via the web. Now we need to be able to write to the databases in the case of FMNew and FMEdit database calls so we cant have read-only security across the board. I am looking for a way to scan a qr code into an IWP app from an ipad. Server is Filemaker 11 adv I know I can use an external bluetooth qr scanner but our people really want to use the camera on the ipad . I am unable to find a way to do this. anyone have any suggestions. please. I have searched, but I suppose I don't even know what terms to search for. I have a FMP 11 DB that is published using IWP on 11 server. The DB is open to the public for browsing, but all edits are done by one or two people. For performance purposes, there is a bulk of data manipulations/calculations done when new data is entered. I know it is generally not good practice to store calculated values, but some reports need multiple passes through 10's of thousands of records up to 100 times time come up…

We are trying to get our website to work with Filemaker 13 and finding that search forms don't work if there are a lot of variables being passed. With Filemaker 11 we had no problem but with 13 the form finds no records. We use the same form processing page for a basic and an advanced search and for the basic search the form processing page just disregards all the empty form variables. I understand that an array can be introduced so that only populated form variables are applied to the search but what I don't understand is why this simple code works perfectly well with Filemaker 11 but not with 13. In the previous set up with Filemaker 13 we had 3 websites on our web server each with their own domains and all able to talk to various Filemaker Pro databases. Now it looks as though we can only put one website inside the htdocs (root level) folder of the new Filemaker pro 13 web server. Does anyone know how we can manage our other 2 websites at the same time? Each has a home page called index.html or index.php so they need to be in separate subdirectories.

I have a layout that is rendered via IWP in FileMaker 12. On this layout I have a portal that displays related records (attachments). The process to add an attachment includes going to a new layout (which contains the SuperContainer web viewer) and creating a new record, adding the file, and then clicking a button which takes you back to the parent record. For some reason, when I navigate back to the parent record/layout, the portal doesn't show the record I just added. If I navigate to another layout and then back again, it shows fine. We have managed to get our website to talk to Filemaker Pro 13 via FX.php. However the web pages keep displaying minor error messages such as Undefined variables. We have checked that the php.ini file has display_errors turned off and it does. The php.ini file was found on Filemaker Server in Web Publishing/publishing-engine/lib/php/php.ini I have attached 2 screenshots - one of the errors displaying on a web page and another of the php.ini code for display_errors. is there something else I need to do to hide these errors? Hi There, I'm just starting to use IWP on a basic database and would like to know if it's possible to cancel a new record request from a web browser? I know that IWP provides a Cancel button if new record is initiated but by default I'm hiding the IWP buttons and replacing them with my own. The problem that I'm having is that if a user presses my New Booking button by mistake it takes them to a layout that allows them to input data for the new record, and because one of the fields is a mandatory field it won't allow them to leave the page without entering a value. Background: IWP will allow you to bypass the iwp_auth.html page if and only if there is one guest account and no other accounts with IWP access. If you want to have more than one account active, and yet still bypass the login step, it is possible. I am trying to serve a small FM file using IWP. I have read here that if I set the guest account to have IWP access and no other account has that then when I go to the URL I should bypass the need for a login. I'm using Filemaker 12. I've got the file settings to log in using the guest account. I've got the guest account ticked to use IWP sharing and no other account has that ability. But it still presents the login screen. Second problem is that it does not run the script I've set to run at opening. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm using Filemaker Pro 11 and trying to switch on IWP. I'm using Mavericks and Server on a mac mini in our office. IWP switches on after a long time with a spinning beach ball, but even though it will allow me to change the port number to something else when I re-open the preference pane for IWP the port has changed back to the default (80). When I try to access the server from inside or outside my network I get a "No data received" error. Anyone have any clues to fix this? I'm sure I had IWP running when I first set up this database, but I have no idea why it's suddenly not working.

I am trying to get instant web publishing running and it will not start up. When I try to turn it on via File/Sharing/Instant Web Publishing I get a couple of minutes of beachball followed by the error message "Filemaker cannot share files over the Web because Instant Web Publishing could not be started". I have repaired disk permissions; tried to get IWP going from an administrator account; tried several different databases; looked for the web.prefs file (which I can't find) in case it had become corrupted. I have been running Filemaker Pro Server 11 for some time. I have six databases running and all six can be seen on the IWP home page. Problem is that sometimes a user selects one of the databases to access and the screen "blinks" and returns to the same IWP home page. This seems to happen more with Windows users using Internet Explorer than Mac users (using either Safari or Firefox), but it does seem to happen periodically to all platforms and browsers. I've even had someone fail with Safari and Firefox and be successful with Chrome. Any thoughts on what setting is causing this failure? Thanks.

I am trying to figure out why this doesn't work in IWP..I'm using Filemaker version 11...but I tried converting to version 12 to test it out and it still didn't work I am going to assume that the problem is the first script is calling on a scrip in a related database and the layout that is being loaded is from the related database. For some reason that's halting the script.... I noticed that with the latest version of Safari 6/Mac OS 10.8 the scroll bars fade from view in Safari. This makes it hard for a IWP user to recognize that an IWP portal, containing a long list of items, is scrollable. It also makes it hard for users who are used to grabbing and dragging the scrollbar handle, as opposed to swiping on a trackpad or magic mouse. In Firefox, the scrollbar does not fade from view after a few seconds, making it a better choice for old style mouse users. Does anyone know how scrolling portals look in Safari on Windows? I believe that Safari is still at v.5.1 on Windows so maybe this is not an issue.
