I just completed a new solution which I loaded onto our test server for further testing in a multiuser shared environment. I immediately noticed that everything was running slowly. Upon opening, a script runs that includes an import step from a SQL database using ODBC and takes about 20 seconds to complete. In single user mode on a network drive that same step takes less then a second to complete. I then noticed that all of my scripted finds take very long to complete, like 25 seconds or so. Long enough to make the solution very painful to use. In single user mode those scripted finds happen instantly. By the way, If I perform the same find manually on the server …

Hi, I'm used to using tokens with FM 5.5. What's the best way to pass a field variable thru a form with PHP? I have a 'club number' field that is auto-entered for the head of a club. I'd like to pass that field variable thru via a form to a new input form that will give new users that club number thru a hidden input. Thanks!

We are running FMS13, opening with FM14. Few weeks ago, I could have sworn I made several changes ( and I know to save my work ). A few hours later, I noticed something I did wasn't there so I made the same change again and then a bit later, I noticed that it wasn't a slip of my memory - that nothing I had done for past several hours was in the graph or layouts although my notes about it was in the script comment (changelog)! I signed out of FM and reopened the file ( open remote ) and my work WAS there! It happened again this weekend and the only thing I noticed last night was that I could no longer right-click to select conditional formatting on labels. I signed ou…

Hello All, I need to rename a couple of files hosted on the Server. I am working on a Mac and the file is hosted on a PC Server. I assume I have to download the file, and then use Developer Utilities to rename. I guess I should download to my Mac, but how do I do this through Remote Desktop Access? The option to download brings up the dialog box shown in the attachment. Is this the proper way to do this? I don't want to bother my Server administrator if I don't have to. Any guidance is much appreciated.

I created a simple multi user fmp14 db that I uploaded to my mac mini fop server thru fmp14 upload process. now, when I am logged in with full access rights, I can't make any changes because I get a "Admin ()" is using or modifying these items or layout. I'm basically locked out. I can't even change the security permissions because I get the same message. What have I done wrong and how do I fix it? Thanks. Randy Riggs [email protected]

Hello all, I am trying to get the output from RunShellScript: If I load the scriptmaster demo database on my server and from a web browser connection go to the scriptmaster database and load the script "Run Shell Script" put in the desired cmd and click "Run Script" the expected results are returned. To my understanding the "Run Script" button basically will call EvaluateGroovy( demo::script ). So I then copy the code in demo::script to a field in my production database (i.e. prod:script) Then from my production database I call EvaluateGroovy( prod:script ). The function does not return an error, it returns nothing. Other scriptmaster function calls are working on …

Hi all, many months ago I tried to install FMS13 on Server 2012 R2 which went well apart from a few hiccups. I am now setting up a new server to host FMS14 again on Server 2012 R2 but I've hit a snag. Unlike last time where FMS13 was the first thing I installed, this time I've installed all of the domain services and setup the domain. Now when I run the installer it says that the ports are in use. I've tried disabling the processes buts made no difference. There is nothing in IIS that's now using ports 443, 50003 or 50004 but it keeps telling me that they are in use. Has anybody got any advice? Thanks George Brewer

Hi, I'm running FileMaker 12 database on a Filemaker 12 server. With my business file I'm able to sort and delete records, but cannot edit or create new records. With a second new test file, I'm able to edit, create, delete, everything. The 2 files have identical permissions and privileges. I know my PHP is correct because it works on the test file. The business file was converted from FMP 5.5 to FMP 7 to FMP 12. It is not a corrupt file. How can my business file not edit or create new records, yet be able to delete records? I appreciate your help! Here is the file. ssvdb.fmp12

My Filemaker client recently did a major environmental upgrade which includes a new Filemaker Server and hardware at the main and remote offices. Besides Office 365 running under RDS, the Filemaker Client too, access the FMS server files from a session on an RDS Server. 1. The first there a major issue was it could no longer call Microsoft Outlook an attachment. We tried several plug-in that functioned, but the user wanted to continue to be at Outlook first and then when/if necessary change / add email address. The issue was resolved using "Send Event" and parsing the data in the call to Outlook.exe. [it went from the simple Email using Client to line of code to about …

Since we upgraded to Windows ver.14 server and workstations, I (as administrator) am constantly getting the following email message when users log in: "2015-09-15 09:14:23.987 -0700 Warning 661 ABCdbDC001 Client "Bruce (Bruce-THINKPAD) [192.168.16.81]" authentication failed on database "ABCdb.fmp12" using "Bruce [fmapp]"." This happens whether the user logs on correctly or not. All users are using windows and only one file is opened with logging in. Does anyone have any insight into this issue? Thanks, Bruce

I am working on adjusting configuration of a server and setting up my backup strategy ( or better, retooling it ). We currently have a couple of files on a Virtual Server ( Windows Server 2012 ). FileMaker Server 13v5. The IT department is using Veeam Backup & Replication to back up the whole server image. Has anyone had any experience with problems with the files where snapshots are being taken to backup the image of the server in a virtual environment? I'm particularly concerned about data corruption...not so much about connection issues. since they run everything after hours. Could you give me examples of the problems you have had? OK, I know I will be embarrassed by the simple answer. I'm going to upgrade from Server 13 to 14 and it says move/copy the database files located /Library/FileMaker Server That folder does not exist. I am running a mac mini specifically to run server. There is nothing else on it. In the library folder there's nothing. Where else to look?

I talked to Steve Blackwell at Devcon and he suggested I post this question here. When I check my server logs on the admin console the event 661 authentication failed comes up a lot. It appears for all or most users a several times a week. No one had trouble logging on. I have posted a screen shot. I believe Steve thought it might be related to auto log on so I posted that screen shot as well (Hope I remembered that correct) Another odd thing is at the end of each line is "using "User[fmapp]" sometimes reads "Admin[fmapp]", sometimes reads "The Logon name[fmapp]". I don't have a user or extended privilege called "User". What does this represent.

I recently switched from FileMaker Server 13 on a Mac to 14.02 using Windows 2012, and with new equipment as well. One hosted file has the annoying habit of trying to summarize a field after the credentials are properly entered, but before the startup script starts to execute, and before any window/layout is drawn on the screen. This happens with either FMPA14 Mac client or FMPA13 Windows clients. The summary notice will stay for several seconds, making it very noticeable and mildly annoying. The file was built with an older version of FileMaker (starting with v9), and has been upgraded since then. This is the first time that this has been noticed, although it may …

For a couple of years I've been running FMS on a mac mini. In the last two days the machine has gone "deaf" three times. Completely incommunicado. No network, and more significantly, no BlueTooth. This requires a hardware shut down and start up to fix. As we all know this is risky business for served files. Thankfully I'm the only user. Unfortunately it just happened again and I'm two hours from my office. The machine is clean. Nothing has changed in terms of configuration or software. There's no software on it other than FMS 13 and the usual Mac OS stuff. I've come to the conclusion that the Mac Mini is not a reliable machine and that I should change to another machine. …

I'm happy to report that FileMaker Server 14 seems to work just fine with OS X 10.10.3 / Server.app 4.1, and the experience overall is better than with 10.9 and FMS13. Here are my tips & hints: During installation, you will be asked which Ports to use for HTTP and HTTPS. Since OS X server already uses 80 and 443 by default, you should pick different ones. You can see a list of which ones to avoid here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202944 (Note: usually ports below 1024 require root permissions. I chose two in the 8000s and it worked fine) During Deployment, on the step where it tries to Test the Webserver, it fails. I think this is just a bug in the D…

I have had intermittent problems in the past sending out multiple emails (in a loop, up to 50 emails) using the Send Mail script step. Some of the emails can fail to send. I was put in touch with an IT support person in the university where I work, and he thought that the problem might be solved by sending via an SMTP server intended specifically for applications and therefore equipped to handle the high volumes and fast speeds of the multiple emails produced by a looping set of send instructions. The prefix for the SMTP server is appsmtp rather than smtp. I gave him the IP address for my version of FM Server 14, and he created the necessary firewall exception. However, …

THE UPSHOT OF THIS POST IS that in a new install of FMS v14 on a dedicated Windows machine, it's reliably hosting my dozen databases across 15 or so client machines, but I'm totally unable to access it from a browser remotely. FM customer support says I should be in good shape and they can't explain my problems. I'm going to throw in all the details I can think of and see what happens. ------------------------------------------- I'm throwing everything at the wall here in hopes something will stick. We're a public library that uses the software to track all of our internal metrics and publish an XML feed to a Web site. For 4 years, we had a Dell machine, Windows 7 Pro,…

I purchased the filemaker server license with 1 allowed remote connection. Sometimes filemaker server will allow me to connect, other times it won't (with the same wifi). I'm not sure if this is an issue with my connection or if because someone else is logged on remotely at the same time this is blocking the server from being available. I would think if this is the case (since I only paid for 1 remote license at a time) an error message would come up with (maximum connections) or something to that extent rather than the server not being available. Any thoughts on this? Matt

Hi Guys, I'm working on a database based on the Selector-Connector principle (and so far am liking it, thanks LaRetta!) but have stumbled onto something I'm not getting. I started out developing this DB on my workstation as a local DB, and this morning uploaded it to the server (a FMSv14) to test it on an iPad to see how the UI looks and feels. In my DB I have a table for all my menus I use in the UI, On each layout I show the user the name of the layout (see in red below). This is not the actual layout name, but rather the menu text in the menu. The layout name is not necessarily a text that is suited for display (ie, my menu table is called UI_Menu, but I wouldn't …

I have a system of 8 Filemaker files and about 50 concurrent FMP users running on Filemaker 11. Recently, our system has started to suffer severe performance degradation that I thought was a result of an old server (Xserv, single 2.0 Intel Xeon, 1x 7200RPM SATA Drive, 16GB of RAM). To support this, I designed a performance test that navigated to some of the larger tables in the system and scripted the creation of 7,500 records in each table. I recorded the start and stop timestamps of the loop and then placed them into a table where I could compare the performance of several test servers against the performance of the live server. (Spreadsheet available at https://doc…

My company acquired a practice using filemaker pro v6 for record keeping. Although we will not be maintaining this - they need to maintain access. I had some general questions and needed assistance with some issues, being a filemaker noob. Here are spec's as far as I can tell - when I open FMP - it says 6.0v4, - when you go to open a database file, it's appended with .fp5. Looking closer this is clearly a 5.5 server. When I go to open the Filemaker Server Console, the title says Filemaker Server Console for Windows 2000 and reads MMC could not create the snap-in and it does not load. This is target: C:\WINDOWS\system32\mmc.exe "C:\Program Files\FileMaker\FileMaker Serv…

I have noticed for quite a while now (a few years) that often when I try to reopen a hosted file that FMPA will spin for 20-30 seconds and respond with "file not available on this server..." error. But upon retrying it a 2nd time, it always comes right up. Anyone else run into this? This has happened on FMS12, 13 and 14 for me. This has been across multiple servers (same client location), different machines/clients, and different files. It has been just a minor annoyance so I haven't tracked it real well: I can't attest to whether it happens every single time I open the file; or perhaps it is only after leaving the office (after properly shutting a file down), and t…

Hello, I have Server 13 running a number of files that are accessed by 25 client seats. All run without issues. I am now trying to access an SQL database using ODBC, and am confused by the instructions I've been reading within FM help, and FM Server help. I configured the ODBC driver I need at the server (Windows), and within the General Settings/ODBC/JDBC tab, the "Enable ODBC/JDBC" checkbox has been checked. But when I go back to FM13Adv on a client machine, and atempt to write a script with "Import Records", it asks for the ODBC driver, but there is none. The Server help indicates that if I have the ODBC driver installed on it, then there is no need to install on the…

I have FMS 14 installed on my development computer. I have had a long-standing problem with accessing FMS 14 Admin Console in Safari. On the Start Admin Console page, the fields for username and password are not displayed in the dialog. My workaround has been to access it in Chrome. But now, when I try to address 127.0.0.1:16000 in Chrome, I see a No Data Received ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE screen. I tried to update Java from build 31 to build 51 with no change. This is FMS 14.0 v1 on OS X 10.10.4. Can anyone shed some light on either of these problems?

Good Day, I'm evaluating the use of FileMaker server in our office. I primarily do all the coding on an office laptop, and I would like to be able to keep things in sync with the other computers in the office. FileMaker seems to keep the database in sync well, but I'm not sure how to handle all the peripheral scripts that we use to control other pieces of software and hardware. Is there a place in the file system that I can put these scripts that FileMaker will sync along with the database? Or do I need to go to a 3rd party syncing software? Regards, Ryan

Hello, I'm a filemaker newbie. I have Filemaker Server 9.0. I have 3 questions: 1. I read in a book that Filemaker Server needs to run in its own machine, which mean no other services can run on it to prevent data corruption. Is this true? 2. Can I run Filemaker Server on a virtual machine if the VM meets all the hardware requirements? 3. If I go with the VM route and then later down the road I purchase an actual machine, what is the migrating process from the VM to the actual new machine?

I ran into an odd problem. I was triggering a script to run on the server via the XML interface (yes, the old one). I was passing credentialls for a [Full Access] account. The script was pretty simple, just going to a layout, create a record, set a field. However, it was giving me an error: ...XML 200 1071 Web Scripting Error: 200, File: "AFile", Script: "Handler", Script Step: "New Record/Request"... I was able to fix this error by turning on the 'run with full access' on the script itself. But I was already logged in as full access, so why did I have to do this extra step? (Side note: this script worked just fine if I made the XML call directly from a web brows…

Good morning all, we run several FMS12 windows servers with both FileMaker GO and FM13 clients. Very recently, we started to notice occasional duplicate / stale / ghost users in the client list on the server side. It occurs most often in the wireless / GO clients. It would appear a connection to the server is dropped, and when the client (GO) re-authenticates, it is occasionally starting a new session/client on the server without releasing the old one. This is wreaking havoc as the new session claims the old session has records in use, etc. The problem has also occurred on FM13 clients (wired)! We are not aware of any changes to our server configuration or GO cli…

I've just upgraded my FMS (Windows 2008R2) from v13.0.1 to v13.0.5 (or whatever the latest is). I'm now finding the Web Console to be extremely slow, to a point where it'll easily take a few minutes to click on a tab to actually see a page beig displayed. Upgrade has been done in two steps (to v13.0.3 and then to v13.0.5 as indicated by FM) and I've also rebooted the box just to be sure. During installation no errors appeared. Before the console worked fine. Anybody else see this? Anything I can do to fix it?

This past Monday I pulled up the Admin console for one of our new FileMaker 13 servers and noticed that the status indicator next to âWeb Serverâ was greyed out and it was reporting that XML was disabled. It also reported that the Web Publishing Engine was not running and FileMaker WebDirect was disabled.  When I checked all of these services, they were running just fine. I was able to connect to WebDirect and our CWP pages were working. I've tried restarting both servers, but nothing changed. I can also change all of these settings in the Admin console (e.g. disable XML, stop the WPE) and they keep working.  Iâve tried running the Deployment Assista…

I have been reading through the documentation about installing FileMaker Server 13 on OSX. I only have one server at my location and that also runs my open directory and internal web services. Generally I use opendirectory groups for my soultion permissions. Going by the documentation I do not see a way to install FM Server 13 on this machine since by default Server.app uses ports 80 and 443 for it's own "Server" website. In the documentation on Page 72 it says my options are to configure the web services on Server.app to use different ports, I do not beleive this can be done, so the other option is to uninstall server.app, also not really an option... So if I g…

I'm getting resistance from a client's IT vendor to opening ports 16000 and 16001 so that I can administer the client's server without having to remote access in using GoToMyPC. The IT vendor is concerned that FileMaker Server uses Java. I thought I remembered hearing that this was not the case beginning with 13, but I see that Java is still listed as a requirement. So my question is two-fold: Does Server 13/14 still need Java and use it as the interface into the Admin Console? If so, and the most recent version of Java is installed, is this still a security issue?

Hi all, Please bear with me; I'm a graphic designer learning to develop for my company when I have time. My boss bought me a copy of FMPA14 because I had heard our FMS12 could still host it, but I'm getting an SSL error when I try to connect to the server from FMP14. We have FMS12v04 on an old G5 running OS X Lion and it can't be upgraded any further. I've been researching this a bit and I found links to update FMS12 to v09 (I think?) which I haven't done yet. We all connect to the server with our workstations via LAN. We don't use FMGo or XML or anything like that (at this point). Is there a workaround or an option I can turn off somewhere? I don't want to buy an SSL ce…

I'm writing an SOP document for restarting Windows servers hosting Filemaker Server 12. I have the correct syntax from the Filemaker Server 12 Help PDF. fmsadmin disconnect client -m message, --message message However, when I try to use it, it doesn't work. I need an example as the syntax for the message part is unclear. Here's what I tried: fmsadmin disconnect client -m --Please log out Could someone give me an example of what the message part should look like? Bill

I'm writing SOP for stopping Filemaker Server 12 prior to a restart of the hosting Windosw Server. My question is: When you STOP SERVER, does it gracefully close the databases? Or should one first close the databases? What I've found so far is opinions, but no actual statement that STOP SERVER does or does not close the databases gracefully. It appears on the surface that when you STOP SERVER and someone is connected, that it gives you a chance to notify users and include a delay before closing the databases and stopping the server. However, I haven't seen anything published about Best Practices. Bill

Haven’t found post of this problem so here I go. Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Everything ran nominally under Server13, external authentication After upgrading to Server14 (following instruction meticulously) none of the databases would show up until I unchecked “List only the databases each user is authorized to access”. When unchecked all the databases show to all users but they can only enter the one’s they have access to. This tells me that the External Authentication is still working properly but the File Display Filter is no longer working. Note: this happens with all client connection types, Windows, Mac, Web-Direct, and GO. Any help would be appreciated.

I am building a simple ODBC Import to report mechanism. In building the connection and pulling the data everything works. I ran the scheduled script on the server and for some unknown reason a specific field is not being pulled. I even ran the script via perform on server and I get the same missing field. I can't imaging how the server and the client can both pull data, but the result is different. Any one have an idea as to what is happening? Below is an example of both the client and server side scripts. The import script is exactly the same script run under both instances except, for the server side, I added a "Perform on Server" to trigger the script. As you can see…

Hi there, Old timer here, still using FM server adv 11 and the FMStudio Pro API for 11, DWCS5. I can creating working php pages using the basic filemaker connection option, but I can't get the filemaker with table based connection option to work. When I built the connection, it tests out file. But when I go to access the php page on the server, I get a 500 error and saying something about resource not found. Is there something in the tools or lib files that needs to be treated to get this to work? Thanks. jim

Hey everyone, Just upgraded to filemaker server 14, and for some reason when I'm logging in to the server from home I can only connect using my old filemaker pro 13 application. The filemaker 14 mac application and filemaker 14 go application do not recognize any files when I type in my ip address. Thoughts? Also, I'm a bit new at using the server/ip/over internet from home, I'm using an ip address in this format 2605:e000:a40a:5900:3850 Is that the correct format? It works with filemaker 13 and my files appear but just wanted to verify. Thanks! Matt

We've had an XP machine running FM server beautifully for years. We want to upgrade our databases to FP7 (Server 11 and clients) from a cost and functionality standpoint (I know it's still behind the times, but our current system still works well). The machine that we use is a Windows 7 machine downgraded to windows XP (out of the box). I decided it was time to update the system to Windows 7 so I could start working on upgrading our databases at night (and possibly take advantage of Win10 free upgrade if need be). Took all night to upgrade to 7 32bit Professional. I installed server 5.5 on the new Win7 install and it seemed to take ok. I had to disable the security notif…

Hi all, Running FMS on a Windows VPS it seems it wants more and more Ram. There is only 10 clients max at any one time connected via FM Pro. Usually not that much. I have noticed if it reaches the limit for the RAM then FMS turns off web publishing automatically. Just wondering what other people may be using or could advise me on maybe why it is so ram hungry. The VPS is 8 CPUs, 10 GB ECC Ram, 35 SSD. Thanks

Hi all, I need some help with script. Last weekend we migrated from 11 to 13 and as it turns out all our OLE objects are gone because of the change in FM 12. My workaround is to get the data from 11 and insert each one. with that said i was told i could create a script to open the attachment (excel, pdf) and in the case of the excel file make changes and then click another script to save changes to Excel. I believe the script would need to write to a temp file. Does anybody know any info on this. I'm starting to move the files from 11 to 13, but i would like to provide the users with the ability to click on a box so the attachment opens up. that way they …

Hello all, Another round of trying to make this work!! I have FM Server 13 in Windows 7 64bit box. I have configured System DNS in both 32 and 64 bit with the same name and NT Windows authentication I can create a file in FMPA13 in the FMS box and see my DNS, and pull data thru the Relation tables from my SQL server, I open the file without a password and I can see my SQLServer data. But, when I open the file hosted in the Server, it ask me for a password ?? it does not accept my Windows login so I have no idea what to put?? Any ideas? Thank you! Eva

Hello folks, I am a die hard Mac and Linux user however now Apple has no server offerings I have jumped ships for my Filemaker Server needs to Windows! I am no expert in Windows and I am suffering majorly with a ScriptMaster issue. I have got it happily moving files around on the local server drive (C:/) but after mapping network drives (N:/ and M:/ in this case) and trying to get it to do something simple like list the folder contents just results in a blank result. So just trying to list my local drive contents I have been using the ScriptMaster external function as the following: ListAllFilesInDirectory( "N:\" ) I have attempted pretty much every variation of the …

I'm looking for ideas on how to speed up a networked Filemaker solution that I'm responsible for. At the moment parts of it are running quite slowly and the users are complaining. There is a mixture of Filemaker 12 and 13 clients, on both Windows and Mac. There is a Mac Mini running Snow Leopard Server which is hosting the file. This computer doesn't have any other duties. It's a normal FIlemaker Pro client rather than Server. In the usual working day, there is one client machine with the solution permanently open but rarely used, and another two that can have it open and be using it a little more intensively. 90% of the time there are just those two clients, and i…

Hi there I'm working on a task at the moment which involves sorting around 65000 records on a data table. The table itself has many occurrences but I only need to sort on this particular occurrence, therefore my sort criteria (ClientID, Date) are based on this occurrence. The issue is that when I sort the data on my local PC, it takes maybe two seconds to sort, calculate and display. For the task in mind, this is perfectly acceptable as I won't be doing it too often. However, now this has been deployed on a server which is more than up to the task and exceeds the recommended spec, the sort takes several minutes with a countdown of records sorted slowly going from 650…

I am creating a database for a construction company. The first phase is a simple customer relationship manager to keep track of customer enquiries and alert to any that have been left too long. The system works great however I am having trouble with a sort records script in Web Direct. The environment is Windows Server 2012, with FileMaker Server 13 v1x64. I've got a script that sends out an e-mail to multiple recipients. When I run the script through FileMaker Pro 13, it sends the e-mails with no issues. However, when I schedule the script to run, it fails. I had the schedule send me an e-mail after the task was done and got this: Looks like 1506 is an SMTP error, but I have no idea why it's failing when it's ran from the server but not from my local desktop. Any help is appreciated.

I'm sorry, forum - you serve a merely psychotherapeutic purpose today. I came here merely to VENT - because I have given up any hope that FileMaker will ever get its act together. As I am sure many of you have suffered through also, even the slightest one of software updates in either Filemaker or any of the supporting packages - from Java to OS X - will almost certainly result in an entirely unpredictable and prohibitively nonsensical trail of incompatibility issues, software errors, or warning messages that will wreck your system. Remember how, when FMS 12 came out, Web Publishing would keep crashing at random intervals and had to be restarted manually? Remember …

Hi, I've been researching the feasibility of accessing Filemaker Server through ODBC/JDBC from PERL on Linux, and seem to have drawn a blank. There seem to be no Filemaker ODBC drivers for Linux. One article I found said that it is possible with JDBC, but before I start reading about that, I just wanted to check that it's definitely impossible to access FMS from PERL/Linux using ODBC. Many thanks,

Hi Everyone, We are about to upgrade our server from 13 to 14. In the FMS 14 getting started guide it states: "Make a copy of any database files and shell script files you used with FileMaker Server." and gives the database location: "\Program Files\FileMaker\FileMaker Server\Data\Databases" My question is do we need to make a copy of the other contents in this folder, namely "RC_Data_FMS" with all of the externally stored container data? Moreover, after we uninstall 13 and install 14 will we have to move it back to the same location? The guide only mentions database and script files so I was unsure what needs to be copied. Thanks for your help. Daniel

Hi, Last week I got the dreaded "disk failing" warning on my 2011 Mac mini. I immediately copied all the files on the drive to an external drive. The entire disk. I also had a Time Machine backup from a few weeks ago. After adding some RAM and replacing the drive I did a Time Machine restore. Of course the FileMaker Server folder in the Library wasn't ever being backed up with TM. Neither was the Applications folder. All good since I still had the files on another drive, no? Well, no. I copied the FileMaker Server folder back to the Library and restarted. No FMS. Nothing in Activity Monitor as well. Granted there are a few more things I should do like repair perm…

I have an OS X server (10.10.3 running Server.app) which is accessed two ways: via an internal LAN network using FileMaker Pro, also via WebDirect to the public via a WAN connection through a firewall. My first try was to install FMS14, and then enable SSL and install the certificates using the Admin console / Database Server / Security / "Import Certificates" button, where I imported the Key as well as a PEM file that I hand-made that included the Certificate first, and intermediate cert…

When I try to run any script on the server I get the error "[FileName] is damaged and cannot be opened." However, FMServer is perfectly able to host the file, and users are able to access it remotely without problems. I was even able to close the file on server and manually open it using a client version on the host machine. No errors. I only get the error when I attempt to "Perform Script On Server." I performed a recovery on the file with no errors and got the message that the file was safe to use. However the problem continues.

This may be too premature to tell at this time, but has anyone either tested and/or running in production FMS 14, but with 13 clients? I would suspect there shouldn't be any major issues, except for new client features (like reconnect to server), which is nothing new based on past releases. The one item that I am mostly concerned with is using 13.0v5 clients. We are using a purchased certificate for secure connections, but haven't upgrade the clients and server to 13.0v9 yet. Will there be any issues with this, or will I have to at least upgrade the clients to 13.0v9 for compatibility with server 14? Any gotchas that you've noticed will be very appreciated to me!
